"Hawaii's got everything under the sun."

We know that everyone in the world, at one time or another, dreams of a vacation to the Hawaiian Islands.

With its picnic areas and miles of fine white sand, this popular spot off the Kohala coast is the largest beach on the island, and one of the top beaches in the world.

While visiting Hawaii, there is no better place on earth to visit a live volcano than Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. With this experience, your trip to the Big Island will be complete.

One of the main features of the park is the 11-mile Crater Rim Drive that encircles Kilauea's summit caldera. There you will see sulfur banks, steam vents, pit craters, recent lava flows and a walk-through lava tube.

There are also three other notable volcanoes on the Big Island. Kilauea Volcano, currently active, is forming a new island, Loih, that may emerge in the next 200,000 years. Mauna Kea Mountain is an extinct volcano. And there is Mauna Loa Mountain.

Take the opportunity to explore the diverse beaches.

You can find white sand, black sand and even green sand beaches on the Big Island.

So a sandy beach is never hard to find.

Imagine swimming with the turtles.
At the waters of Kahalu'u Beach Park there is plenty of marine life: turtles, trumpet fish, parrotfish, moorish idos, moray eels and many more. Grab your mask and snorkel and have fun.

Hawaii is noted for whale watching. The best season for whale watching is from December to April when thousands of humpback whales migrate to the Hawaiian waters. To see one of these natural wonders gracefully breach the surface, spin, then reenter the water with a thundering splash is an unforgetable experience.

Interested in Hawaii traditions? Then watch the Hilo fishers pull into shore with their catch on weekdays. They customarily sell their colorful fish at the Suisan fish market.

Another tradition you can participate in Wednesday and Saturday morning is the farmers' market on Front Street, where farmers and craftsmen from the east end of the island display and sell a variety of products and produce.

In Hawaii there is always something
to enjoy.
