Kekaha, known as "God's Country", is a small coastal town on the extreme west coast of Kauai, "The Garden Island." Kauai is the fourth largest and oldest of the seven Hawaiian islands.

It is a rural, agricultural community whose major industry is a 5000 acre sugar plantation.

Miles of secluded white sand beaches cover Kekaha, the gateway to Kokee, a cool, mountainous State Park.It is also home to Waimea Canyon, "The Grand Canyon of the Pacific" and the Kalalau Valley.

Kekaha Beach County Park has access to picnic tables, toilets, grills as well as miles of golden sand beaches. It is ideal for picnicing and sunbathing. The sunsets here are magical, and the beach itself is spectacular.

Further west in Mana, are even more miles of secluded beaches such as Polihale, Canetop, Queen's Pond, and Barking Sands.

The entire Kekaha beach is exposed to open ocean (which brings strong currents). The undertow here is strong, and there are usually many breakers. Caution is advised. This is a popular spot, when the water is calm, to teach the local children to surf.

There are miles of secluded, white sand beaches where dune buggies are often heard racing along (just off Highway 50).
