Wailea is 16 miles from Kahului Airport.

For golfers,Wailea’s Blue course, designed by Arthur Jack Snyder is a true resort course, featuring tropical foliage, fountains and wide fairways. The Gold course is the most intriguing, requiring strategy and finesse to play well. The Emerald course is women friendly, with a lush style of landscape.

At the Southern end is another championshop course, the Makena Golf course. It's difficult layout and unique flavor make it a favorite of many of the island's residents.

The beaches of Wailea (which means 'Joyful Waters') are crescent moon shaped with white sand. At both ends lava outcroppings protect the bay.

This makes for sheltered swimmable waters and good snorkeling and scuba.

Most visitors like to rent cars; advance reservations are strongly recommended.

There are several commercial airport shuttle services and taxicabs.

The Wailea Shuttle is one way to hop from one beach to the next, or to the shopping. It generally operates from 6:30 am to 8:30 pm.

Dining and recreational activities abound at Wailea.

There are many tennis opportunities here as Wailea offers 11 hard courts, full service pro shop, 5 tennis pros, daily lessons and clinics available.

Shopping can be done at the Wailea Shopping Village.

The 1.5 mile long beach walk which links all the beaches is very popular with early morning and late afternoon joggers and walkers.
