town just past Punaluu, 20 miles from Honolulu, the state capital. |

Hauula is on the
northeastern coast of the island of Oahu between Laie and Kaawa, near Kalaipaloa
Point and the Hauula Forest Reserve. |

The area's lovely hills are
crowned with dense forests of beautiful, symmetrical Norfolk pines. These
pines shelter three wonderful hiking trails; the Hau`ula Loop Trail, the
Papali Trail, and situated between the two, the Ma`akua Gulch Trail (
follows Ma`akua Stream through the gulch which and ends abruptly at little
Ma`akua Falls).

| At the estuary
of a stream is Aukai Beach Park, a flat little beach right in the middle
of town. |

Enjoy great snorkeling or
relax on this serene white sandy beach.
The beach is protected by
a reef 1/4 mile out.

Hikers will
enjoy the Hauulu Loop Trails. These ridge trail offer views of the mountains,
the sea, and the valleys.
