Adirondacks Lodging

Adirondacks Travel Guide
Located in the northeastern part of New York state, the Adirondack Mountains run through 11 counties and span 6.1 million acres of land. For travelers who enjoy the great outdoors, there are several vacation rental accommodation options, including condo rentals, ski chalet rentals and private home vacation rentals. Lodging options are varied and are sure to provide travelers with the comforts of home while experiencing all the Adirondack region has to offer.

The Adirondack Park comprises hundred of hiking trails, lakes and streams. Visitors who seek a vacation rental that is located in a unique area may opt for a condo rental or a chalet rental near Lake Placid, which was twice home of the Winter Olympic Games. The area's accommodation options include chalet rentals that are just steps from championship ski runs. Chalet rentals provide travelers with ease of access to downhill ski areas as well as cross-country ski areas, ski lifts and ski gondolas. Condo rentals also offer ski-in, ski-out access and may provide accommodations that include extra amenities, such as heated outdoor swimming pools and Jacuzzis. Condo rental and chalet rental accommodations near Lake Place also give visitors access to the unique Olympic Village, which features many retail shops, restaurants and apres-ski bars and pubs.

Because the Adirondack Mountains are not a continuous mountain range, vacation rentals can be found high up in the mountains or in the lush green valleys. Lodging options can include secluded accommodations that provide much privacy. The Adirondack region offers visitors a multitude of activities in all four seasons, including whitewater rafting, canoeing, hiking, mountain biking and skiing. Areas around Lake Placid, Lake George, Saranac Lake and Schroon Lake are the most populous with vacation rental options and offer easy access to outdoor activities and the convenience of city services.

This comfortable house with 400 feet of wooded lakefront was built as a family home about 30 years ago. With solar panels and large picture windows facing the beautiful mountain and lake views to the south, it was built to be both energy efficient and to take full advantage of the location. The result is a beautiful home designed to be lived in and enjoyed on a lakefront parcel with one of the most beautiful views in the Adirondacks. Evening and morning skies from the dock, eagles soaring overhead and nesting across the bay, and loons calling in the distance are all a regular part of our summers. The house has electric baseboard heat throughout for the winter, spring and autumn. Oseetah Lake is on the Saranac River, and part of the Saranac chain of lakes. You can travel by boat to Saranac Lake Village (Lake Flower) and nearby Kiwassa Lake. State operated locks on the river allow easy access upstream by motor boat or canoe to Lower and Upper Saranac Lakes. In all, there are over 25 miles of lakes to explore without leaving your boat, with all the bass fishing, windsurfing, kayaking and other lakefront activities you could want. Remote ponds such as Pine Pond are accessible by trail on the other side of the lake. There are three full size canoes, one single person canoe and a kayak by the dock. Paddles are also stored on site, as are boat cushions. Some PFD's, or life jackets, are be available for adults, but please bring your own for any children.
