Bucks County Vacation Rentals by Owner

Bucks County, Pennsylvania is an area of approximately 600 square miles in the Delaware River Valley about one hour north of Philadelphia. Vacation rentals in Bucks County could be in one of a number of communities such as Doylestown, New Hope and Lahaska. Vacation rentals here are ideal for a variety of activities.

The county seat of Doylestown is home to the Mercer Museum, built by the archaeologist and tile maker, Henry Chapman Mercer. This unusual concrete structure houses his extraordinary collection of pre-industrial revolution tools and artefacts. You can also visit Mercer’s family home, Fonthill Castle, which is nearby. The walls and ceilings of this concrete castle are inlaid with tiles from all over the world as well as those made by Mercer himself. Next door is the Moravian Pottery and Tile Works where handmade tiles are still made in the style of Mercer himself.

For families with accommodation here, visit the Bucks County Children’s Museum. You can dig for buried treasure, ride in a hot air balloon, design and build your own race car and many more hands-on, fun and educational activities.

For the adults on the trip, visit the Bucks County Wine Trail. There are nine different wineries in Bucks County, all of which offer tastings and tours of their facilities within easy reach of your vacation rental. Some wineries also offer gourmet food, exhibit local arts and crafts, and provide live music. Take a day out from your accommodations and experience the seasonal wine varieties that Bucks County has to offer. You might like to purchase a few bottles to take back to your lodging too!

If shopping is part of your condo rental experience, Peddlar’s Village in Lahaska is a popular destination. This shopping village includes sixty-five unique shops and selling everything from trendy fashions and gourmet food to work from local artisans. For a relaxing day out try the full service day spa and return to your accommodations refreshed.

If you are looking for an evening out from your vacation rental, you won't go wrong with the Bucks County Playhouse in New Hope. Many stars of Hollywood and Broadway have entertained here including Grace Kelly, Walter Matthau, Liza Minnelli and Robert Redford. You might return to your condo rental having seen a star of the future!

Any accommodation in Bucks County will allow you to experience the history and culture of the area. Condo rentals here will let you have a vacation with something for everyone.

Philadelphia is a bustling city overflowing with activity, history, and culture. The 'City of Brotherly Love' is a city where many come to learn about the history of America's roots by touring Independence Hall, viewing the Liberty Bell, and visiting the house where Thomas Jefferson wrote the Declaration of Independence. What many visitors forget is that Philadelphia's history was written not just in a house that stood at Seventh and Market streets, but also in the neighborhoods where Philadelphians still live today. While much of Philadelphia has been modernized and updated, some structures remain the same as they were in the 18th century when John Adams and Thomas Jefferson strolled through the streets of Philadelphia during the American Revolution. One of the things that makes Philadelphia unique is its architecture and real estate. Just one example of unique real estate is the Trinity houses of Philadelphia. Below is some more information on this uniquely Philadelphia structure and how it has survived the test of time. What is a Trinity house. A Trinity house is a three-story house with each floor containing one room. The Trinity house is believed to have originated in Philadelphia as early as the year 1720, and nearly 300 years later, Trinity houses are still found across the city of Philadelphia. Sometimes called 'Father, Son, and Holy Ghost' houses or 'Bandbox' houses, Trinity houses are typically quite small with an estimated 400-700 square feet of living space (our home has 700 sqft). While these houses were commonly used for families in past generations, in reflection of today's living standards, a Trinity house would be best for a young couple or roommates.
