    Tucked between the Dordogne River and steep, dramatic stone cliffs, the village of La Roque Gageac is the picturesque location for this completely renovated three thousand square foot stone house. Dating from the Middle Ages, the Dordogne Village-House is reportedly the oldest in the village. There are ancient stone steps gently ascending the hill, leading directly to the house. It offers an excellent opportunity to savor the natural beauty of this distinct area of France, as well as a truly authentic medieval village. This idyllic setting is convenient with wonderful restaurants, casual dining and wine cellar within steps of the house. On the mid-level of this three-story house, one enters through a rustic wooden door set into the thick, ochre-colored stonewalls onto a private courtyard. This leads to the entrance of the the home through your completely remodeled kitchen with massive stone fireplace ("cantou") that now houses a wood stove, a long dining table, a new cooking range, and an American style refrigerator. The kitchen is completely equipped for convenient meal preparation. The attractive lounge has oak beams and the original large traditional fireplace (in addition there is electric heating for winter use). The lounge is spacious with comfortable seating for gathering and sharing the days events. There are double French doors leading out to the ivy covered river view terrace. Also for your comfort: There is a convenient WIFI connection, a Bose Ipod port, radio, TV, and free international calls to land lines. On the top floor there is a large master bedroom with a king sized bed. A second bedroom next-door has two twin beds, that can be made up as a king. Both bedrooms share a beautifully decorated bath room with large walk-in shower, toilet and sink. A landing separates these two rooms. Below the main floor, on the lowest level, there is another double bedroom and spacious bathroom with tub, shower,toilet and sink. The second bedroom on this floor has twin beds and a sitting area. This convenient floor plan allows for families or friends traveling together to enjoy the large open main floor for meals, conversation and relaxing. Yet have complete privacy with the main floor separating their sleeping quarters. Guests Comments: What a beautiful place to stay while exploring the southwest of France. The house was beautifully appointed with great amenities and plenty of space. The house is well equipped and beautifully appointed. It has all the charm of a bygone era with all the modern touches. La Roque is a picture perfect town and the shops and restaurants provided everything we needed. Helene, on the next level up from the house supplied us with wine and gourmet treats and Chef Dimitri came and prepared 2 exceptional meals for us. We had a wonderful time exploring castles, caves, spent a day in Bordeaux and drove through the gorgeous country visiting towns and villages. I can't wait for my next visit!

    'We had a brilliant time!' Our beaming visitors say Béral is the perfect getaway for adults and for kids. The traditional 18th-century farmhouse in white Quercy stone is matched by the splendour of its private pool, large terrace with ping-pong & barbeque, orchard and exquisite setting. All has been sensitively restored to be characterful but with modern conveniences. The property is set into the side of a hill, with everything facing south; the terrace, pool and gardens are spread out to give wonderful views over the fields of sunflowers. Inside, the farmhouse has a large main living room, with stone and whitewashed walls, a traditional corner kitchen and a beamed open fireplace. To either side are delightful bedrooms, one with a double bed, the other with a king and a cot if needed. All the rooms have views over the valley. The upstairs bathroom has a hipbath with a shower, and a toilet. Downstairs are two more bedrooms - both with antique floor tiles and two single beds - and a second bathroom. The house has been tastefully restored to retain all its ancient character, but with modern facilities throughout. The house is particularly well laid out for a single family or two families together. But the upper floor is also fantastic for a couple traveling alone. There are too many attractions in the area to suggest more than a few. Among the distinctive villages, Lascabanes has beautiful flowers and a lovely church; Lauzerte, high on a hill, a carefully restored bastide with a remarkable town square and good festivals; Saint-Cirq Lapopie, a 45-minute drive up the Lot, is the most famous village of the area, a medieval town in a spectacular cliffside setting hanging over the river - good restaurants too; Montpezat-de-Quercy has a beautiful arcaded square, and half-timbered houses. Rocamadour is not far away. Figeac is well worth a visit, with its museum to Champollion, who cracked the code of the Rosetta Stone. With the porous limestone prevalent on the causse, there are important caves in the area. The most famous is the huge underground village of Peche Merle, with its prehistoric paintings and traces of early man (up the Célé river from Cahors). The most well-known museums in the area include the Toulouse Lautrec museum in Albi (which also has a wonderful red-brick cathedral), the Musée des Beaux Arts in Agen, and the Musée d'Ingres in Montaubon. There are many other types of museum covering every aspect of Quercy life. Among the cathedrals and abbeys, apart from Albi, you might consider driving to the wonderful abbey at Moissac, which also has a stunning set of well-preserved cloisters. 'I thought I would drop you a line to let you know what a wonderful time my family and I had at Béral. You are truly lucky to own such a beautiful house set in picturesque countryside. We all felt that the improvements you had made complimented the house and were in keeping with its origins. We all felt so relaxed and extremely sad when our week came to an end - no-one wanted to leave. Many, many thanks for letting us experience Béral.' 'We had a brilliant time while we were at Béral.     This is a non-smoking apartment. THANK YOU. The apartment is an all-furnished one at about 0,3 miles from the Cathedral. Thanks to its full-bed and its sofa, it can accommodate up to 4 people (the displayed price is for 2 people). It is ideal for 2 people or a couple with 2 children, but some people found it too small for 4 adults (don't forget it is only 30m2!). Please note that for monthly rentals, we can only accommodate a maximum of 2 guests. It has an all-equipped kitchenette with a fridge, a freezer, a kettle, a microwave, a regular oven, a coffee maker, a toaster and all the dishes and kitchenwares you'll need for your stay. Thanks to the apartment electronic equipment, you'll be able to watch television, even the news in English (CNN, the BBC etc.) and in other languages, you'll get free wifi connection and you'll be able to call your home country for free (only landlines for most countries, but landlines and cell phones for the US and Canada). There is also a washing-machine in the apartment in case you need to do some laundry during your stay. Ladies: don't bother with your hair-dryer: there in one in the apartment. The small bathroom has a shower, a sink and a toilet. Bed linen and towels are furnished. You'll find all the shops you need in the area, including a wonderful French baker's (closed in August!). Concerning PRICE and BOOKING: The price given is for 2 people using ONE full bed. There is an extra charge for the second bed. In order to foster long-term bookings, I do not accept short-term bookings a long time in advance: I start accepting bookings under 5 days only within 2 weeks of the required dates. The pedestrian street below is the center of shopping, with many bars and restaurants only a stone's throw away. With the grocery store (Super U) across the street you are never far from fresh food and pastries. Card access to the center of town is provided (barrier entry card) for your car when needed for drop offs and pick ups during the stay; underground parking is a 3 min walk away. A car is not needed in Chamonix as you can walk to the lifts of the Aiguille du Midi, the cog wheel mountain railway of the Montenvers, and the Brèvent lift station which connects to Flegere is a 10 min walk away. The tourist office and bus stop is a 2 min walk and very easy to reach by hiking or skiing in Les Praz, Argentiere or Les Houches. In the summer you are a 5 min stroll to the tennis club and hiking paths and a 15 min stroll from golf and the base of many mountain trails. You can rent bikes nearby and keep them locked up in the ground floor bike room. The brand new cave has 12 boot and glove warmers and is always toasty to ensure ski clothes are dry and ready for the next day's runs.

    Les Fougères is a delightful self catering detached holiday cottage You can find it in the hamlet of La Coupaudais, which is just outside the village of Saint-Hélen near Dinan in the Côtes-d'Armor department of Northern Brittany, France. Surrounded by beautiful countryside, the accommodation is well placed for a relaxing holiday. There are lots of nearby interesting places to explore, including the medieval market town of Dinan, which is just 10 minutes' drive away. The port of St Malo at the mouth of the River Rance is a 15-minute drive away and the seaside town of Dinard, with its magnificent beaches, is around 20 minutes' away. The city of Rennes, where you can find designer shops and wonderful restaurants, can also be reached in around 20 minutes. Our detached cottage dates from the 1800s and has been tastefully restored and decorated. It sleeps up to six people in three bedrooms and has a cot for a baby. Full central heating throughout and a small log burner means the cottage is great for cosy nights in during the autumn and winter months. The lounge/diner has a pine dining table and chairs, sofas, and a television with video, DVD and CD players. The TV receives all Sky free channels so you can keep up to date with your favourite programmes. There is a large selection of videos and DVDs and a wide range of family board games and books for all ages. The well-equipped kitchen has been fitted with modern units, including a dishwasher.     Why “l’Hirondelle” – because each year in the summer swallows visit Capestang and is area and can be seen performing their aerobatics against the back drop of an Azure sky. We started off with a stone built house just over 100 years old and over a period of 4 years we have lovingly restored it into luxurious maison de village in southern France, which sleeps 6, comprising of three double bedrooms, fully fitted kitchen, spacious open plan lounge/diner, two bathrooms and a ground floor toilet, terrace, garden, BBQ, spa pool, garage and is situated in a calm area of the village. It is in an ideal spot to wind down after the hustle bustle of everyday life, yet with plenty of attractions in the area you can do as much or as little as you wish. THE REGION: It is in a village called CAPESTANG (population approx 3,500), which is close to the PYRENEES, the MASSIF CENTRAL and just 25 minutes from the MEDITERRANEAN SEA. Why is it called Capestang? Prior to the Middle Ages the village was on land jutting into a lake or etang, so became known as Cap d’Etang. The lake was drained but remnants of it can still be seen from the top of the nearby L’Oppidom d’Enserune, which was a Roman settlement where many artefacts still exist, showing a dartboard appearance from the shape of the fields below. It is a village which is popular with tourists but is not spoiled by them. The essential character of a southern French village still being retained. It is an area is full of antiquity and items of historical interest dating back to 3,000 BC. This village has been in existence for at least 1,000 years and parts of the old village wall and other buildings still exist. It is a centre of the Languedoc viticulture region where the local wines have become exceptionally good over the last few years. There facilities for walking, lazing on the beach (some of which are family orientated, such as Valras Plage, where there is a kiddies playground and sheltered areas to make safe areas for the children and it is patrolled by lifeguards). There is swimming in the sea, lakes and nearby swimming pools with other water sports. You can hire a boat for a leisurely ride along the canal, or hire cycles for a ride. It is a very good area for cycling and walking. For the motorcyclists, there are some excellent roads for riding hereabouts but beware of the speed traps. There are even areas where you can do some light aircraft flying. Wine tasting, eating out and exploring old relics are also good options. In fact with such a good choice of restaurants which can be reached on foot the car can rest in the garage at night. The locals are so very cheerful, friendly and helpful and overall it has a calm and peaceful atmosphere and is an ideal place to wind down. It is also makes an excellent base for touring the region. Our house is situated within 300 metres of the village centre where there are a number of shops, cafe's, restaurants, a very striking church and other amenities. At the eastern end of the village, there is an InterMarché Supermarket with a Lidl supermarket at the western end. This area is blessed with a Mediterranean climate meaning that it is hot and dry in the summer and the winters are relatively mild, with lovely comfortable spring and autumns in between. LE CANAL DU MIDI crosses the northern part of the village and is about 500 metres from the house. ABOUT OUR HOUSE: Our house is mostly stone built and terraced. Having good modern insulation it is comparatively cool in the summer and warm in the winter. This is augmented by a “green” system which provides heating and cooling to the main living area and the three bedrooms. A wood burning stove gives added heat and comfort in the coldest months. It is built on two floors with the ground floor and is mainly open plan, consisting of a front porch, then a spacious lounge/diner extending into the kitchen giving a spacious living area. In here there is an HD multi channel flat screen satellite and local TV, an audio centre, a comfortable 3 piece suit and book shelves with a selection of books covering all interests. In the dining area there is a dining table with 6 chairs and also a dresser. There is an integral garage, large enough to accommodate most makes of car. At the rear of the garage there is the laundry area with a washing machine. There is a downstairs toilet with a wash basin with a rear porch area. The kitchen is fully equipped and includes an electric cooker, dish washer, fridge freezer, micro wave oven and a granite surface work top. To the rear of our house there is an outdoor terraced area with a barbeque and garden furniture to allow for outdoor eating and beyond this a garden in which there is a spa pool. After mounting the stairs to the second floor there is firstly a double bedroom furnished with a pair of single beds, built in wardrobes with ample hanging and storage space. From here the next room is the main bathroom which is quite large and has a tub, shower, wash basin and a W/C. The next bedroom is also fitted with built in ample sized wardrobes. It has twin beds and an en suite shower room with a shower, wash basin and W/C. The final bedroom is furnished with a double bed and again ample sized built in wardrobes and drawer space. The beams have been left exposed throughout the second floor and in the single storey kitchen giving high ceilings and a pleasing ambience. In the roof there are two Veluxe skylights allowing addition daylight to the stairs and upstairs landing, giving a light and airy feeling. In the bathroom there is a heated towel rail which can also be used to provide heat. The domestic hot water system is heated via solar panels on the roof feeding a 300 litre tank. We also have a telephone and inter-net access. GETTING THERE: Capestang is about 15 minutes from the Beziers West exit of the N9 Autoroute. It is about one hour from Montpelier, Perpignan and Carcassonne Airports, two hours from Toulouse and three hours from Barcelona Airports. Alternatively, if you prefer about 12 hours driving time from the channel ports. It is also an easy day’s drive from Bilbao in Spain. There is also a Motor-Rail terminus at nearby Narbonne and the journey by EuroStar, TGV and SNCF should take about II hours to Beziers from St Pancras, London. RyanAir fly from Stansted to Carcassonne and Perpignan, to Beziers, Nimes & Gerona from Luton Airport - EasyJet Gatwick to Toulouse & Barcelona– Babybmi East Midlands to Toulouse.

Only a few miles away are beautiful beaches on the Mediterranean Sea where food and drinks are available during the high season. The open air markets in the area are worth visiting, especially the Saturday market in and around the Old City of Hyères... 12th Century. On Sundays it happens in La Londe les Maures, on the main street, between 7h00 and 13h00. The Vineyards of Provence are worth visiting and sampling.     The property has a 1000 m2 garden and a private access to the sea through our neighbor's garden by way of a right of passage. The path goes along the outer edge of his property after crossing a little garden bridge and opening a gate and goes down the steep coast line by way of steps and a path and a second gate. 5 minutes at most. Persons with walking disabilities might not want to go down to the water here. But a morning swim in the cove is stunning and private, mostly during the day also. Nearby properties are well hidden by vegetation. The area is a nationally protected area so we have quite a bit of wildlife in the form of wild boars ( not dangerous except to gardens so the gate must be closed at dusk systematically), fox, marten, squirrel, deer, and a lot of birds. The house has a gorgeous view of the sea and evenings on the terrace are marvelously serene. The house is very open inside and light. All the mattresses are new. Towels matching each bathroom are found in either the closets of the rooms close to the bathroom or in the closet in the bathroom itself. There is ample closet space. There is an inflatable buggy board in one closet and some masks and tubes and flippers.

There is a pharmacy just in front of the shop Francprix. 8-10 min away from the metro station "Maire de St-Ouen" line 13, 20 min with metro till Paris (Champs Elysees) I'll be happy to show you Paris because I'm guide with rickshaw (bicycle with 3 seat) I propose many nice trips and this is one of the best way to know Paris and to learn something more about the history, monuments small typical streets and some interesting facts.
