Publix Hilton Head Island Marathon (February 7): The Hilton Head Island Marathon & Half Marathon will feature a scenic certified course that takes participants thru two parks and over the Broad Creek. The course is fast with an incline at the bridge over the Broad Creek, which is about a one mile span and is done twice. Both The Marathon and Half Marathon will feature all standard male and female divisions. The race will also feature a 5K, children’s fun run, and post race party with live music, vendors and a craft beer garden.
Historic Bluffton Arts & Seafood Festival (October 12–19): This is when fine arts and bounty of the sea come together! A showcase of locally-harvested seafood, cuisine, history, art and Southern hospitality with a boat parade and tours, concerts and performances, kayak tours, book signings, races, Art Around Town, a two-day Streetfest and much more.
RBC Heritage Golf Tournament (April 13-19): The RBC Heritage is a longstanding tradition of being one of golf’s most notable tournaments. This tournament is considered a favorite among TOUR players and is one of the few events that enables fans to get up-close and personal with the players. Hilton Head Island Winter Wonder Festival (December 5): The Winter Wonder Festival provides a safe environment parents can take their children to start their Holiday celebration. The target age for the event is 3-12, but everyone is welcome. There will be hayrides, carnival games, petting zoo, children’s parade and much more. Mr. & Mrs. Claus will also be joining in the fun! Admission is $10 for children (2-15). All the proceeds of this event benefit the Hilton Head Island Recreation Association Children’s Scholarship Fund. Bring the family and enjoy an afternoon of Winter Wonder Fun!
The Dove Street Festival of Lights (December 1-January 4): The Dove Street Festival of Lights is an Island holiday tradition for 20 years and is coming back to life at Shelter Cove Towne Centre! With the blessing of founders Paul & Kristi Beckler and Rob Lolik, visitors from across the region will once again be able to experience the magic of the cascading and tastefully tacky display. Presented by Shelter Cove Towne Centre, the Dove Street Festival of Lights will be open to the public nightly from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Hilton Head Island Wine & Food Festival (January 1): The 8th Annual Bluffton New Year’s Day Polar Bear 5K Run, Health Walk, 1 Mile Children’s Fun Run & Dog Walk, will start and finish in the Publix Buckwalter Place Parking Lot, 10 a.m.
EASTER EGGstravaganza (April 4, 2015): The Island Rec Center presents Easter EGGstravaganza at the Shelter Cove Community Park, 39 Shelter Cove Ln., from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. A huge Easter egg hunt will begin at 11 a.m. sharp, followed by an afternoon of moon bounces, games and music. Admission is $10 for children Age 2-10 and No Charge for Adults. All proceeds benefit The Island Recreation Association Scholarship Fund.
