Located in eastern Kauai County, Kapaa is a remote, coastal Hawaiian town. Although quaint, Kapaa is home to many tourist attractions, including the scenic destinations that Hawaii vacationers often seek. If you are planning a trip to Kapaa, you will find no shortage of things to do.
Nounou Moutain Range is located on the east side of Kauai between Kapaa and Wailua. The range is often referred to as the "Sleeping Giant" for its resemblance to the figure of a man lying on his back. Kamokila Hawaiian Village is a re-creation of Kamokila Village, an ancient village once located above the Wailua River.
Kapaa Beach is a small, private beach on the northwestern shore. The beach consists of a rocky shoreline and accordingly is not an ideal destination for those wishing to swim.
Anahola Beach is a white sand beach located on the eastern shore of Kauai. It is considered the safest beach on Kauai's windward coast. This is because the beach is protected from the surf by a reef, which makes the beach suitable for young or inexperienced swimmers.
