Fintry Accommodations
Fintry is a
beautiful provincial park on the west shores of Okanagan Lake
, 34 km north of the city of Kelowna, and 50 km south of Vernon. It has about 50 homes and is at the bottom of a 3 km, steep windy road off West Side Road. There are a few public beaches and numerous vacation rentals, condo rentals and accommodations with amazing lake views.
Fintry Provincial Park includes the former Fintry Farm Estate, a heritage site with a colourful history. There is over
2 km of waterfront property
with surrounding mountains & canyons that offer swimming, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, hiking & great location for power boating.
Around park there is accommodation, vacation rental and condo rental options which serve as a good base to experience the beauty of the Okanagan Lake and surrounding areas. There is also numerous activities to keep the whole family entertained. Explore
heritage buildings
: The Manor House, Octagonal Barn, & Packing House. Learn more of the fascinating Dun-Waters’ legend. Walk up the original road carved out of the cliff - imagine a delta covered with orchard. Bring a picnic and enjoy the sandy “Day Use” area. Hike up the stairs and trail to view Fintry’s triple waterfall. Walk the labyrinth - 60 feet in diameter - a half a mile in length. Watch wildlife in their natural habitat.
Very popular spring/summer activities include the parade of wildflowers from March to July, biking through the park, swim, sunbathe, or build sand castles on the nearly 2 km of beach. Canoe or kayak on the Okanagan Lake. Play volley ball or horseshoes near the Manor House.
Scuba dive
at an existing dive site located across from Fintry on the east side of Okanagan Lake. There is a sunken barge reportedly offshore of the park.
Star gaze in the dark night sky
from the comfort of your lake side accommodation, vacation rental or condo rental.
Some exciting events take place in Fintry. Fintry Spring Plant Festival in May is the first event of the season and is held at the Manor House. Plants and seeds are on sale together with arts and crafts by the residents of the Westside. Local musicians will play from the Veranda, and children of all ages will be invited to play games on the Front Lawn.
Fintry Pancake Breakfast
takes place in August. Country and Western music is featured from the veranda of the Manor House, and tours of the House and Barns is available.
