Lake City is a city in the U.S. state of Michigan
. The city only has an approximate population of 850 and is known as the "Christmas Tree Capital".
Lake City derives its name from the three inland lakes in or at the edge of the town, which are Lake Missaukee, Lake Sapphire and Crooked Lake.

, Schuss Mountain and Grayling. Missaukee Mountain is just 3.5 miles north of Lake City on the M-66. Missaukee Mountain is open on the weekends and has a bunny hill, cross-country trails, tow ropes and short but snappy runs. Wonderful accommodation, vacation rental and condo rental options are available year round.
There are four 18-hole golf courses and one 9-hole course offering a wide range of difficulty
and are within a 30-minute drive of most places in the county. The beautiful Missaukee Golf Course and Country Green Golf Center is just five miles south of Lake City. Public tennis courts are available in both Lake City and McBain.
