Lee is a town in Penobscot County, Maine, United States. The small town of Lee is located in Eastern Maine with a population of about 900 located 60 miles northeast of Bangor, and 12 miles east of Lincoln. The town might be small but the accommodations and lodging are plentiful and range from vacation rentals to condo rentals.

The town offers several historic buildings and outdoor recreational sites such as a locally owned and operated ski mountain and Cole’s Landing-public beach/boat launch. The accommodation, vacation rental and condo rental options are dotted around the beautiful sites.

Lee Historical Society & Museum is true time capsule of the Victorian Era, with lovingly restored and maintained rooms in a three-story Main Street building. The room settings include the Civil War history, a carriage house, stuffed animals and genealogies.

Mount Jefferson, the locally owned and operated ski mountain has a 432' vertical drop with novice, intermediate, difficult & most difficult trails. There is a beginner's slope with 600' handle tow and two 2000' T-bars. Ski lessons are offered for individuals or groups and ski and snowboard rentals are available are on site. After a day of fun, visitors and refuel at the full snack bar with homemade treats.

The resort is easily accessible, just off the main highway and there are many family-owned accommodation and vacation rental options around with friendly, helpful service.

The Mattawamkeag Wilderness Park is situated along the scenic Mattawamkeag River. Visitors to The Park can enjoy the beauty of Lower and Upper Gordon Falls and Sleugundy Heater Gorge, The Gorge is a miniature Grand Canyon with 40 foot cliffs and unusual rock formations.

The Park also offer fishing, canoeing, hiking or mountain biking on 15 miles of trails, or just relax.
