Here are comments from some of our previous Guests: I searched for days until I found this wonderful rental. We decided to go to Victoria for a 4 day excursion to check out this beautiful area. We didn't want to stay right down town, however, we were hoping for something with style, privacy, character, and a place that was close to all of the areas we wanted to see. This place hit the mark and exceeded all of our expectations!! The Sunrise Suite is everything you see in the pictures and much, much more. It is equipped with any and every amenity you can desire. It is so much more than you would typically see from a standard rental. It is a short 15-20 minute drive to Victoria. There are a few small towns and wineries to explore nearby (and so many more places we did not get a chance to see)! Additionally, there are many beaches to explore. We had the opportunity to see the amazing Butchart Gardens (5 minutes from suite) as well as several beaches, including the Botanical Beach. There are so many things to do and so little time to do them. As an added bonus, while we were sitting on the patio Saturday night, we were able to clearly see the fireworks from Butchart Gardens (which they apparently do have every Saturday during the summertime). You can be sure you will find a few unexpected treasures, as the owners have done such a fabulous job adding beautiful personal touches to the property. Be sure to take time to meet them, as they are quite wonderful and gracious hosts. I am certainly looking forward to our next stay - I only wish it could be more frequent. Gorgeous in every way!" Genial hosts, check – Velcro dogs, check – Wonderful flowers at home, check – Close to Butchart Gardens, check – Easy trip into Victoria, check. But, let me emphasize what others have mentioned in passing; this is a great place for foodies. If you want to eat out, there are plenty of terrific places within a short drive. Brentwood Bay Resort, Maria’s Greek in Sidney, and the Dining Room at Butchart Gardens, are examples. We especially liked the Cactus Club Café in Victoria. The real wonder is how well equipped the kitchen is if you want to eat at home, as we did. It is not YOUR kitchen, but it does have sharp knives (and a knife sharpener), heavy bottomed pans, some food storage containers, useable spices, and starter amounts of sugar and flour. If you want to bake, buy flour. If you need two tablespoons for a recipe, you will not have to buy 5 pounds of flour; what a treat. There was a nice welcome/starter collection that made the first day’s breakfast feasible, another treat. The aircraft carrier sized grill on the deck worked wonders, especially with our first night’s flank steak that also provided two picnics. Nearby, many farm markets were in peak season form. Greens, tomatoes, beets, cukes, corn (great on the grill), berries, berries, and more berries were all beautiful, plentiful and affordable. Satellite Fish Company in Sidney is terrific. It has a small selection of absolutely fresh fish at good prices. Free range eggs and chickens are available at farm markets and the Saturday farmer’s market at the fairgrounds. Several good groceries are nearby, too. Each night while having dinner on the deck overlooking the beautiful countryside.

    The house is about 5,000 square ft with open plan upstairs. The entranceway has a huge closet which houses coats and shoes. As you enter the home you will face the large open plan living room, kitchen to the right and also the dining room with 14ft ceilings. Off the entrance way is the door to the garage which can house up to four cars on a hydraulic lift, and also a powder room for visitors just before you reach the living room. Off the living room is the Zen feel master bedroom with large ensuite bathroom, and a dual gas fireplace for both the bedroom and bathroom. The master bedroom has a double French door which leads to a small terrace where you can sit all year round and enjoy cocktails, meals or afternoon tea as there is a gas heater on this terrace. This terrace can also be accessed from the living room. The large ensuite bathroom has a Jacuzzi and also a shower, with a double sink. The washer and dryer are also located in this bathroom along with a small TV. Upstairs boasts numerous skylights which is an added feature with one in the kitchen, one in the entrance hall and another skylight in the master bathroom and walk in closet area, never a shortage of natural light in this house.
