The beautiful city of Victoria, British Columbia
sits at the southern end of Vancouver
Island. Vacation rentals are easily accessible by air to the Victoria International Airport, or by ferry from Tsawwassen-Schwarz Bay just south of Vancouver.
One of Victoria’s busiest areas for condo rental visitors is Yates Street. This ten block stretch is right in the centre of Victoria’s theatre area with heritage buildings restored to retain the feeling of the old town
. For some evening entertainment near your accommodation there are two muti-screen cinemas as well as three live performance theatres. Before heading back to your lodging, have a drink or a bite to eat at one of the many restaurants, cafes or pubs lining the street.
From condo rentals in this area, Yates Street runs directly down to Victoria’s Inner Harbour to the beginning of David Foster Way, a stunning five-kilometre long pathway
running around the edge of the harbour. If you haven’t brought your bicycle or rollerblades with you to your accommodations, you can rent them at various places. Otherwise, take a more leisurely walk, and take in the beauty of the waterfront
area so close to Victoria apartments.
At the other end of David Foster Way is Fisherman’s Wharf
. You will be glad you made the trip from your vacation rental when you arrive at this working harbour. Fishing boats arrive daily. Buy some fresh seafood directly from the boats
to take back to your accommodation. This area is also home to a colourful village of floating homes
located next to the marina and fishing boat piers. From here, you can take kayak tours
around the Inner Harbour as well as whale watching trips
out into the open sea. Orcas are the kind of whale most frequently seen, but other types pass through the area, as well as harbour seals, bald eagles and porpoises. You will return to your vacation rentals with memories of some of the most majestic creatures you will ever see
A few blocks from Yates Street vacation rentals is Government Street. The variety of shops here make this is the perfect shopping area to find a unique souvenir
to take back to your condo rental. You can find native art, jewellery, fashion and other specialty stores.
Canada’s oldest Chinatown
is also near Yates condo rentals. You enter the area through the elaborate Gates of Harmonious Interest. This district was designated a National Historic Site of Canada in 1995. Fan Tan Alley is the narrowest street in Canada
. It is only 35 inches wide at its narrowest point. Tam Kung Buddhist Temple is another special place. While out of the public view in Chinatown, it is the oldest temple of its kind in Canada.
Booking Victoria accommodations will give you everything you want from a city holiday. From exciting nightlife to the stunning beauty of the ocean
, you will not go home disappointed.
