It is south of Vernon, in the Winfield district of Lake Country, and a 25 minute drive north of Kelowna. The area averages 2,000 hours of sunshine annually, and the locally grown fruits are bountiful. The Okanagan Valley is famous for its long, hot, dry summers. The many lakes in this region offer a refuge from the summer's heat. Wood Lake is warmer than some other lakes in the area, as it is more shallow. It's Marina also has a Pub which offers great food, and a spectacular view of the Lake.
Nearby Golf Courses include the Okanagan Golf Club (which offers the Bear Course and the Quail Course), and Predator Ridge Golf Resort.

Swim Across the Lake (July)
A 2.1 km linear swim course across Okanagan Lake. Time limit for the race is 90 minutes.
RBC GranFondo Kelowna (July)
Starting and finishing in beautiful downtown Kelowna, a spectacular scenic course with dazzling views of Lake Okanagan, with 1750m of elevation gain on 140km of rolling roads.
Center of Gravity
The Center of Gravity is one of the largest multi-sport festivals in BC and it will be held in Kelowna’s City Park. The feature sports this summer will be beach volleyball, mountain biking, 3 on 3 street basketball, and wakeboarding. These professional sports will be complimented with an interactive entertainment.
