In a verdant oasis, this detached character residence (with its 18th-century tower) lies just a few miles south of the elegant city of Aix-en-Provence. A haven of peace, it has a private fishing lake set in large, enclosed mature grounds. The house itself is spacious, light and airy, and is adorned with paintings by local artists. The ground floor rooms all have access to the terraces - there is a shady, wisteria-clad one off the kitchen for al fresco eating, and a sunny one off the living room which overlooks the swimming pool encircled by exotic palms. The well-equipped kitchen has an open fireplace with grill where you can cook locally caught fish from the morning market at Marseille's fishing port. Possible visits include the Sainte Victoire mountain (inspiration for Cézanne's paintings, and which can be seen from the house), Lourmarin (with château), Lauris and Cadenet. Parking. The booking is confirmed once signed documents have been faxed and 25% of the rental price (+ 28 Euros booking fee) has been paid. The remaining 75% of rental fee must be paid at least 42 days prior to arrival. If you cancel 75 or more days prior, payments less 15% of rental and 50 Euros are refunded.
