Stay at our relaxing and quiet property set on the slopes of the valley and close to the lake with it's own beach and restaurants. We're ideally situated for all the prehistoric and medieval attractions of the Dordogne as well as being close enough to a couple of larger cities to enjoy the shopping and architecture.

    More Information
    The lounge has many original features including the beautiful exposed stone walls and wooden beams - comfortably furnished and has a sofa-bed should it be needed. Situated in the Perigord Noir region of the Dordogne, this traditional farmhouse is set on the side of a beautiful valley with outstanding views of the countryside. The gîte is adjoined to the owners house in grounds of some five acres, and is very safe and tranquil being situated at the end of a private road. Private garden overlooking the valley is perfect for dining and relaxing outside on those long hot summer days and nights. The property also offers the perfect setting for individuals or groups looking for a base to spend time training for cycling, swimming or triathlon. With Lac du Causse being just 7 very scenic kilometres away from the gîte it is easily accessible and is the location for the local annual June triathlon. Out of season it offers very quiet and almost private facilities.

    • Nearest airports are Limoges, Bergerac, Rodez, Toulouse and Bordeaux. The nearest, Limoges, is just over one hour away from the property. It may well be worth noting that flights from the UK to these airports can be from as little as £1.99 return with Ryanair, Flybe and Easy Jet. The nearest train station is Brive with a direct service to and from Paris. Arrangements can be made for collection and drop-off, although it is recommended to hire a car. Car hire is available locally and assistance could be given with this prior or after your arrival.
    • Golf: can be reached by driving for 45 minute(s). Have still yet to make some enquiries regarding the golfing facilities in the area, but it is available and within easy driving distance.
    • Ski lifts or Runs : can be reached by driving for 90 minute(s). One and a half hours away is the Massif Centrale region, an old volcanic region with it's own micro-climate. In Winter months it's a popular, but fairly quiet ski-resort, the most popular area being around Mont Dore.
    • Shopping and Dining: can be reached by walking for 20 minute(s). Shops and restaurants are available locally at the village of Larche, and although walkable would be easier by car. The historic towns of Brive, Sarlat, Terrason and Montignac are all close by and easily reached by car.
    • Beach gradient is gradual for a long distance. Beach surface is fine sand. Please see the details for the beach also. The beach and lake are man-made, sitting in a valley near to the villages of Lissac and Chasteaux. Fantastic fishing conditions and opportunities for watersports. The beach is a public beach with showers, children's play area, life-guard services, boat rental and walks around the perimeter. In June the annual Brive triathlon is held at the beach.
    Payments and Policies
    Payment Details
    35% of the rent is required to complete the booking (balance due 60 days in advance). A refundable security/damage deposit of 200 is required. If you cancel anytime, payments (less 35%) are refunded if the unit is re-rented.
    Owner accepts payments by: Personal Cheque - PayPal - Direct Bank Deposit - Cash
    Fees can be paid in Euros after agreement by owner and at current conversion rate.

    Policies
    • No smoking is allowed.
    • Children are allowed. A Cribcan be provided.
    • Check in after 4:00PM and check out before 10:00AM. Check in/out times may be flexible upon request.
    • No pets allowed (Except for Service Animals).
    • There is no specific quiet time policy, though guests are asked to be respectful of any neighbours.
    • Housekeeping is provided prior to arrival and after departure. No housekeeping is provided during a stay.
