The house is set on a hill, facing south and overlooking the Douro river just in front and also to the east and west. The river flows on a splendid green valley. The view is wide open and has been described by all previous guests as "stunning", "magnificent" and "breathtaking".
A unique chance to enjoy this unspoilt region of Portugal and discover the environment in which port wine has been produced for centuries, from the unique atmosphere of our Quinta, where you can pick your own oranges for fresh juice every morning, together with fresh bread delivered daily.
The estate is ideal for artists, families, or groups of friends, with its combination of total privacy, many local attractions, superb views, and vicinity to the historic city of Porto, the Port Wine producing estates and the Foz Coa archaeological site – all 3 classified as Unesco world heritage sites.
For your comfort, at extra cost, transfer from/to airport and tailor-made tours, so that you get to know the best of the beloved valley and its many attractions, can be organized. Also possible are walking tours, fishing, river cruises, golf – or just staying by the pool gazing at the view.
• Porto Airport – 75 km, 1 hour 30 minute drive (RyanAir flies directly from Stansted, Liverpool, Dublin, Paris, Frankfurt). Also served daily by BA / TAP from Heathrow and Gatwick; also Air Berlin, Lufthansa. Train station in Mosteirô – 4 km, 5 minute drive – trains to Porto and alongside Douro river into Port Wine region.
• Golf: can be reached by driving for 45 minute(s). The 18 hole Amarante golf course is 45 km away, about 50 minute drive.
• Shopping and Dining: can be reached by driving for 20 minute(s). Local shops and typical restaurants within easy reach by car.
• The property has a magnificent view to the Douro river. The coast is 70km away. River beaches in Douro available nearby - 15 km, 15 minute drive.
25% of the rent is required to complete the booking (balance due 70 days in advance). There is no security/damage deposit required. If you cancel anytime, payments are refunded if the unit is re-rented.
