The complex has a great BBQ area and three lighted tennis courts. There is a tennis pro available on the property for lessons and to arrange matches. The large swimming pool complete with chaise lounges, tables and umbrellas has a very friendly atmosphere. Your private lanai (balcony) is a great place to relax and enjoy the perfect climate. There is a washer and dryer in the condo for your convenience. It is approximately a 2 hour drive to Volcanoes National Park and most folks make this a day trip. Water activities abound in the area including self-piloted pontoon boat rentals, sailing and snorkeling cruises, glassbottom boat adventure cruises, 24' zodiac raft trips to Captain Cooks monument, and the always popular whale watching cruises .

Distances

Golf: can be reached by walking for 5 minute(s). The Kona Country Club golf course has 2 championship courses. The Ocean course and the Mountain course. There is a pro shop, driving range, restaurant and lounge. These clubs are located about 2 minutes from the Surf & Racquet Club. The Big Island Country Club has a challenging Pete Dye course and is located approximately 20 minutes drive from Kona. Makalei and Mauna Kea should also be considered for the golfer in your group. Ask about discounts.
Shopping and Dining: can be reached by driving for 45 minute(s). Oceanfront complex, located on Ali'i Drive. Five miles south of the little town of Kailua Kona. The Keauhou Shopping Center is located very near the Surf & Racquet Club. There are interesting shops, restaurants, a super market, cinema, banks, medical clinic, drugstore, post office, gas station and a Wendy's with the best view you can imagine. There is a shuttle bus to and from the shopping center, and the Ali'i Drive Shuttle to town.
The complex is oceanfront. It is about a ten minute walk to the Kahaluu Beach Park. This is an extremely popular spot to surf, and to snorkel, as it is frequented by turtles (you don't even need to be in the water to see them, as they often rest on the sand at dusk) and has sheltered access for novice snorkelers. You can rent snorkeling equipment right at the beach. A further 10 minute walk will take you to White Sands beach (a.k.a Magic Sands...as every year around March and April, the sands are stripped away by heavy seas and currents, exposing rough coral and making the area rugged for swimming. People still come here during those months because it is a good vantage point for observing migrating humpback whales.) A large sandy beach can be found at Hapuna State Park, a 55 minute drive north on Hwy 19. It is almost 700 yards long. During good weather the swimming is good and life guards are on duty. Walking distance to Kahaluu Beach Park which is great for swimming, snorkeling or just sitting under a palm tree with that book you have been wanting to read. Swim with the Sea Turtles most of the year.

Payments and Policies

Payment Details

50% of the rent is required to complete the booking (balance due 60 days in advance). A refundable security/damage deposit of 200 is required. If you cancel less than 30 days prior to arrival, there is no refund unless re-rented.
