The house is in a an old part of the village and is what the French describe as a "Maison de Village". There are buildings immediately opposite. Looking along the street to the south, the road widens and a fountain is incorporated in this. A restaurant and trees can also been seen. To the north there is a small square with a local bank. The old buildings give a touch of character to the surroundings.

8 electric convector heaters in the house - a radio/cd/tape player and a separate portable radio/tape player - TV is on terrestial French services + some satellite English programs. TV & video operate on PAL & SECAM systems. We have English Language videos and a well stocked library, fiction and information books of the area. No air-conditioning. The house has thick outside stone walls, which keep the it cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. We have electric fans, which help to keep it more comfortable when it is hot. Capestang is a delightful village, well liked by visitors but not spoiled by the effects of tourism - it is a a great place to unwind. The cottage is about 500 metres from Le Canal du Midi. An excellent area for evening walks. We will expect guests to pay the costs of any telephone charges at the same rate that we have to pay to France TeleCom for calls and line rental. Shopping and Dining: can be reached by walking for 5 minute(s). The cottage is close to the village centre, where there are local shops, two bars and a large church around the main village square, about 5 minutes amble away. There are various restaurants in the village, the nearest of which is about 100 metres and there is a boulangerie even closer. On the outskirts of the village there is an "Intermarché" supermarket.
• A vehicle is required to drive (about 25 minutes) to the nearest ocean beach. A vehicle is required to drive (about 25 minutes) to the nearest lake. There are various beaches about 25 to 30 kms away, (about 20 to 30 minutes driving time), the nearest of which is Valras Plage. It has fine sands and has been "landscaped" to make safe areas for children. There is also a childrens' play ground. The water temperature gradually raises to the low 20°C during the season. Narbonne Plage is often used by windsurfers.
Payments and Policies
Payment Details
20% of the rent is required to complete the booking (balance due 30 days in advance). A refundable security/damage deposit (amount to be discussed with the owner) is required. If you cancel anytime, payments (less 20%) are refunded if the unit is re-rented.

With paypal payments are to be transfered into GB pounds or Euros and the cost of such transfer is 2.9%.

Policies
• Smoking is allowed.
• Children are allowed.
• Check in after 4:00PM and check out before 10:00AM.
• Dogs are allowed but must be approved by the Owner. A deposit/fee of 50.00/pet will apply.
• There is no specific quiet time policy, though guests are asked to be respectful of any neighbours.
• Housekeeping is provided prior to arrival and after departure. No housekeeping is provided during a stay.
