Quiet and Beautiful Country Setting in Mid-Vancouver Island
Private, quiet, comfortable, and clean, our vintage guest house has lots of character to go along with its fully supplied furnishings, linens, kitchen findings, etc...
Just bring your clothes, hang them up and start your day trips. Visit the beaches, golf courses, and many local attractions in the Parksville/Qualicum Beach area, or go to the West Coast for the day (Tofino, Ucluelet) or to Mt. Washington in the Courtenay/Comox area. At the end of each day, relax and enjoy the wonderful view from our 1000 sq. ft. guest house which is set on ten private forested acres with a large pond.

Drive up the circular driveway to the house. Guest House Entry -- look for the wooden screen door. Bright kitchen with view. Table seats up to 8 guests. Full kitchen w. all expected appliances, dishes, cutlery etc Warm & pretty, a wood stove enhances the living room. Living room view from the computer nook/staircase area. 
Computer nook area; room for airbed to the left of computer. Queen size bed bedroom with view. Adjustable twin bed with remote control. Upstairs ensuite washroom serves both bedrooms. Main floor bathroom with shower in large tub. Lots of private sitting space outside!

Special Conditions
House is not too suitable for children under six years of age, nor for anyone with a mobility handicap. There are stairs coming into the house, stairs to enter the living and computer rooms, plus a full flight of stairs to the upstairs bedrooms. In addition, there is a lovely, large pond that isn't a good place for young children to play around (it's about 300 ft. down a gentle slope).

    Master Bedroom
    1 Queen Bed (sleeps 2). Upstairs. Great view. Very comfy with fine linens. Clothes closet. Storage closet. TV with satellite feed, DVD player, and VCR. Electric heat. Air conditioner in window.
    Bedroom
    1 Twin Bed (sleeps 1). Upstairs. Adjustable bed with remote control. Memory foam tops excellent firm foam mattress base. Very comfortable. Smallish room. Dresser. Clothes closet. Washroom access from the rear door of the bedroom. TV with DVD player, and VCR (no satellite feed on this one). Electric heat. Air Conditioner in window.
    Living Room
    1 Double Hide-A-Bed/Sofa Bed (sleeps 2). Newer hide-a-bed/sofa with a comfortable mattress. Closed drapes block all light which makes the living room fine for sleeping. (In addition to the hide-a-bed, a separate couch is suitable for a child to sleep on.) Medium-sized living room. Large TV with satellite feed, DVD/VCR combination player. Small stereo player for CDs and tapes. Electric heat. Wood stove for cold/cosy nights.
    Alcove
    1 Single Air Mattress (sleeps 1). A comfortable raised air bed fits into the computer/nook alcove. It is quite adequate for an adult. (Guests comment on its comfort!) Curtains can be drawn to prevent morning light from awakening the sleeper. Electric heat.
    Bathrooms
    Bathroom 1 has toilet, bathtub, shower and one basin.
    Bathroom 2 is an en suite and has toilet and one basin.

    Whether sitting at the kitchen table, at the living room couch, or in the upstairs master bedroom, you have a wonderful view of the hills that frame the Alberni Valley and the rain forest that fills much of our ten acres.
    More Information
    Shared washing facility with new large capacity washer and dryer. Lots of private yard space with tables, umbrellas, chairs, small wood/charcoal BBQ. Quiet time request applies to outside noise only because there is extensive sound proofing between units--you can turn up the TV as loud as you like--providing the windows and doors are closed. :)

You can travel north to many communities up the Island, or south to Vancouver Ferries, or directly by bus to Victoria. The same drive time will take you to the Qualicum Beach shopping area, or the Parksville shopping area. A less than five minute drive will take you to all the great shops in the Coombs area.
    • Beach is located within a 10 minute(s) drive. Beach gradient is gradual for a long distance. Beach surface is sand and rocks. A ten minute drive will take you to any one of several ocean beaches, and a local lake. There are many Pacific Ocean beaches in our area (Oceanside area - Eastern Vancouver Island). Some are very sandy, some are mixed sand and rocks. If beachcombing is your pleasure, then Qualicum Beach has the beaches for you. If you enjoy swimming and sitting at the beach, then the Parksville beaches may suit you best. In our Oceanside area of Vancouver Island, there's a beach setting to suit all tastes!

    Payment Details
    25% of the rent is required to complete the booking (balance due on arrival). There is no security/damage deposit required. If you cancel anytime, payments (less 50) are refunded if the unit is re-rented.

    Policies
    • No smoking is allowed.
    • Children are allowed but this unit is not suitable for persons under the age of 6.
    • Check in after 4:00 PM and check out before 10:00 AM. Check in/out times may be flexible upon request.
    • A maximum of 2 Dogs and/or Cats are allowed but must be approved by the Owner. A fee of $5.00/day will apply.
    • Guests are asked to be quiet between the times of 11:00 PM and 7:00 AM.
    • No Maid Service is provided during a stay.
    • Housekeeping is provided prior to arrival and after departure.
