The wines of our region are not to be missed and a small selection is stored in the old bread oven that serves as a wine cellar. You will find balsamic vinegar, olive oil, and Dijon mustard as standard, as well as an extensive range of herbs and spices. There are plenty of pots and pans in good working order (no loose handles) and generous-sized dishes holding enough for everyone.

Behind the cottage are farmers' fields so nothing blocks the stunning sunrises and sunsets we experience.
• Limoges Airport is within a 90 minute(s) drive. There are 5 possible airports within reach of the cottage. Limoges is the quickest as it is directly accessible by the A20 autoroute in about an hour and a half. The two airports in Paris are Orly (2.5 hours) and Charles de Gaulle (3 hours). Poitiers and Tours are about 2.5 hours from the cottage by car.
• Golf: can be reached by driving for 15 minute(s). There are 3 golf course(s) nearby. The nearest is at Sainte Fauste, about a 15 minute drive. It is a small and friendly 9 hole course - very popular with our guests. There are 2 further courses, one to the west in the grounds of a ruined chateau and one to the south east. Both are 18 hole courses and both are about a 40 minute drive from the cottage.
• Shopping and Dining: can be reached by driving for 10 minute(s). There are excellent restaurants within 10 minutes drive of the cottage at Sassierges, Bommiers, Brive, Meunet Planches and Ardentes (full details in the Guest Manual at the property). Stocking up with supplies is not a problem as there are two supermarkets that open on Sunday mornings nearby. There is also a large hypermarket on the outskirts of Chateauroux for shopping trips from Monday to Saturday and a notable weekly market takes place at St Aout (10 minutes drive) every Tuesday morning. The village of Ambrault has an excellent butcher's shop that also sells a small range of groceries, fruit and vegetables. There is also a baker's and Post Office in the village. A baker's van comes to the house three mornings a week.
• There are many lakes in the Berry. The nearest lake to Les Canardeaux is at Mareuil sur Arnon. The Brenne district to the west of Chateauroux is dotted with lakes where you can fish or windsurf. The lake near Eguzon is huge and a popular spot for sailing, windsurfing and water skiing. It is about an hour's drive from the cottage.
25% of the rent is required to complete the booking (balance due 60 days in advance). A refundable security/damage deposit of 400 is required. If you cancel anytime, payments (less 25) are refunded if the unit is re-rented.

• No smoking is allowed.
• Children are allowed. A Crib and a High Chair can be provided.
• Check in after 5:00 PM and check out before 10:00 AM. Check in/out times may be flexible upon request.
• No pets allowed (Except for Service Animals).
• There is no specific quiet time policy, though guests are asked to be respectful of any neighbours.
• Maid Service is provided every 7 days during a stay.
• Housekeeping is provided prior to arrival and after departure.
