The complex is an eight minute walk to the Sparwood Mall shopping center. Large full service grocery store, deli, liquor store, two banks (CIBC and Royal), Sann Store, video rentals, coffee shop. The complex is located twenty minutes from Graves Lake, which is stocked with Kokanee salmon and is boat accessible. You can water ski but a wet suit is advised. A vehicle is required to drive (about twenty-two minutes) to the parking lot of the Fernie Alpine Resort. You can walk or ski from the upper (RV) parking lot to the Timber Bowl lift; it takes one minute. You can ski back to your vehicle. There are paths to the Sparwood golf course and the walk takes about ten minutes. To play at the Fernie Golf Club is a seventeen minute drive, Elkford it is a twenty minute drive and Crowsnest is twenty five minutes. It is a ten minute walk from the complex to the community recreation center, which has a pool, fitness center, squash courts, tennis, hot tub, spa etc.
