| Distances A ten minute drive to Kahalu'u Beach Park; a great snorkeling beach (you can rent snorkeling equipment right on the beach). Green sea turtles can sometimes be seen resting on the sand at dusk. A few minutes further north is 'White Sands Beach'. A large sandy beach can be found at Hapuna State Park, a fifty-five minute drive north on Hwy 19. It is almost 700 yards long. During good weather the swimming is good and life guards are on duty. The large Keauhou Shopping Center is located just a few minutes drive away, as is the Kona Country Club Golf Course, which has two championship golf courses. It is a 36-hole layout featuring the Ocean Golf Course and Ali'i (Royal) Golf Course. It is a two hour fifteen minute drive to Volcanoes National Park. |
