| Distances Eleven miles from Keahole Airport. Less than three miles from downtown Kailua-Kona with many restaurants and shops. Wonderful snorkeling nearby, and beaches. Volcano National Park is ninety-nine miles. Located on Ali'i Drive. The Ali'i Shuttle (painted red, white and blue) runs approximately every thirty to forty-five minutes. The large Keauhou Shopping Centre is located a ten minute drive south, as is Kahaluu Beach Park. This is popular spot to surf and snorkle; it is frequented by turtles, and has a sheltered access for novice snorkelers. On the way there you will pass White Sands Beach (a.k.a. Magic Sands). The Kona Country Club golf course is the closest golf course, and has 36 championship holes, pro shop, driving range, restaurant and lounge. There are other golf courses to the north, and a course at the Volcano Golf and Country Club, which at 4,000 feet is the highest course in Hawaii. |
