Free tennis courts. Oceanfront swimming pool with sun deck and jacuzzi. Swimming in front of the condo is not possible because of the rocks, but Kauai's best swimming beaches are nearby. Shipwreck Beach is a few blocks to the east, and Brennecke's and Poipu Beaches are a few blocks to the west. |

Distances
Makahuena at Poipu is on the southernmost point of Kauai. It sits on the bluff above the rocky shoreline close to the center of Poipu. You will enjoy some of the most dramatic ocean vistas in Poipu. There are quite a few restaurants and cafes located within 1-2 miles from the complex. Be sure to check out the restaurants at the Kauai Grand Hyatt, and Brenneckes Beach, both next door. One mile away is the Poipu Shopping Village, a lovely open-air island-style mall with shops and restaurants nestled in the middle of the gardens. It is a very safe area, so if you are traveling with teens, they can go to the shopping center on their own. Historic Koloa Town is a few minutes drive from Makahuena. 15.66 miles to the Lihue Airport (LIH) or about 30 minutes drive time. Poipu Bay Golf Course is 1/2 mile away.
