Thanks so much!" Dino from Denver: "Thank you so much for the use of your condo in Keystone this past weekend! We really enjoyed ourselves and loved the location of the unit. It was great to be able to look out onto the pool and hot tub, and be so close to all the activities in the village. Keystone Resort Keystone Resort is more than a ski and snowboarding destination, it's an adventure. It's more than a place; it's a way of life that compels everyone to try something new and discover their favorite Rocky Mountain adventure. Keystone Resort was founded November 21, 1970 by Max and Edna Dercum.  On November 21, 2003, Keystone inaugurated Founders' Day and renamed Keystone Mountain as "Dercum Mountain".  The Dercums' passion, vision and commitment is found throughout the resort.  From the early days, Keystone was known as an adventurous place where people came to be with friends and family.  We still hold these principles true. Along with the Dercums, Bill and Jane Bergman had a big hand in the development of Keystone Resort.  Bill was the first president and organized the corporation of Keystone Resort.  In recognition of his contribution, Keystone has renamed Little Bowl as "Bergman Bowl".  Bergman Bowl is a part of Keystone's new terrain accessed by Keystone Adventure Tours. Today Keystone Resort spans seven miles along the Snake River and encompasses three spectacular mountains – Dercum Mountain, North Peak and The Outback. Keystone also features award winning dining, vibrant villages, two championship golf course, Rocky Mountains' largest and most distinguished Conference Center and incredible lodging and guest amenities. - Keystone, Colorado

To put it simply, Keystone is a massively under-rated ski resort. Whilst Keystone Colorado is celebrated for its family friendly culture, the ski terrain has a distinctly dark side that is very appealing to the powderhound. Keystone has a huge ski area with modern lifts, a vibrant village, plenty of activities, outdoor concerts and the infamous night skiing. As their motto states – "It's all here."

What you see on the front side from the base area is only a minute portion of the Keystone ski terrain available. Keystone Resort has a hefty 1,274 hectares (3,150 acres) of skiable terrain, and the 953 metres (3,127 feet) of vertical is spread across a number of different mountain peaks, all linked by modern gondolas and chair lifts.

Whilst Keystone has no truly extreme terrain, steeps abound which include trees, bumps and some hefty cornices. And if you want something a bit special, there is also cat skiing in several alpine bowls including the huge Independence Bowl.

Terrain park dudes are extraordinarily well catered for at Keystone. The park culture is very established and Keystone attracts some amazingly high calibre park riders.

In keeping with their family-friendly status, Keystone has a huge area for night skiing which includes the parks and pipe. The lights and lift operation is fully wind powered - it's good to know that wind has a useful purpose in a ski resort rather than just making it chilly!
