As the station is so close, it is really easy to get the Circumvesuviana train to Pompeii, Herculaneum, Oplontis, Vesuvius and Naples. Buses also go from the station so it is easy to do the coastal route from Sorrento to Amalfi. The immediate neighbourhood has plenty of cafes, bars and shops.

    This case is a charming apartment in Praiano, with a splendid view over the Mediterranean sea and Amalfi’s coastline. The house is set in an elevated position, in the pedestrian area of Praiano and provides easy access to shops, bars and excellent sea food restaurants. Just 300 meters far from the property is a bus stop, both for the local bus and for the bus that takes to the other villages of the coast. From the bus stop, a 5-minute walk up the hill takes to a private, pedestrian lane with 15 step stairway which lead to the entrance door. Recently modernised, it features rooms full of air and light and hand painted majolica tiled floors, typical of the Amalfi coast. It is furnished with comfortable contemporary furnishings complemented by modern amenities, including modern, complete bathrooms, a kitchen packed with appliances, air conditioning, winter heating and satellite television. Both bedrooms are spacious and furnished with a double bed and each has access to its own private terrace with wonderful views of the sea and of the arch- shaped stretch of coast which goes from Praiano to Positano up to Punta Campanella and the island of Capri. Terraces are furnished with large white umbrellas , tables with chairs, and deck chairs. A car is not necessary during your stay but if you have one, parking is available in a private parking lot approximately 800 meters away from the house. Accommodation (roughly 70 sqm inside and 30 sqm of terraces and balconies) Entrance is in a small corridor which leads into the various rooms of the house The kitchen features a solid wood dining table seating 4 people and cupboard on one side while the other side features the cooking area with a five-burner stove, an oven, a large fridge with freezer, and small electrical appliances such as toaster, kettle, blender, microwave, etc. Next to the kitchen is the living room which is a spacious and bright room with a luminous floor made of local majolica tiles. Here you will find a table and chairs, a comfortable sofa , a television and windows with views. In a large room , divided from the living room by an arched opening covered with sliding curtains, there is a double bed and a lovely old dresser . The bedroom is illuminated by a large arched glass window which takes the whole wall and leads to a terrace with a magnificent view of the sea. The terrace is large enough to have a table with chairs shaded by a sun umbrella. The living-room is close to a large and elegant bathroom which is tiled with green hand painted majolica tiles. It features a bathtub, WC, washbasin and arched window which looks onto the sea. The second spacious double bedroom, also accessible from the corridor , enjoys a large window which looks onto the sea and French doors leading onto a second and even larger terrace with the same glorious view .     'We had a brilliant time!' Our beaming visitors say Béral is the perfect getaway for adults and for kids. The traditional 18th-century farmhouse in white Quercy stone is matched by the splendour of its private pool, large terrace with ping-pong & barbeque, orchard and exquisite setting. All has been sensitively restored to be characterful but with modern conveniences. The property is set into the side of a hill, with everything facing south; the terrace, pool and gardens are spread out to give wonderful views over the fields of sunflowers. Inside, the farmhouse has a large main living room, with stone and whitewashed walls, a traditional corner kitchen and a beamed open fireplace. To either side are delightful bedrooms, one with a double bed, the other with a king and a cot if needed. All the rooms have views over the valley. The upstairs bathroom has a hipbath with a shower, and a toilet. Downstairs are two more bedrooms - both with antique floor tiles and two single beds - and a second bathroom. The house has been tastefully restored to retain all its ancient character, but with modern facilities throughout. The house is particularly well laid out for a single family or two families together. But the upper floor is also fantastic for a couple traveling alone. There are too many attractions in the area to suggest more than a few. Among the distinctive villages, Lascabanes has beautiful flowers and a lovely church; Lauzerte, high on a hill, a carefully restored bastide with a remarkable town square and good festivals; Saint-Cirq Lapopie, a 45-minute drive up the Lot, is the most famous village of the area, a medieval town in a spectacular cliffside setting hanging over the river - good restaurants too; Montpezat-de-Quercy has a beautiful arcaded square, and half-timbered houses. Rocamadour is not far away. Figeac is well worth a visit, with its museum to Champollion, who cracked the code of the Rosetta Stone. With the porous limestone prevalent on the causse, there are important caves in the area. The most famous is the huge underground village of Peche Merle, with its prehistoric paintings and traces of early man (up the Célé river from Cahors). The most well-known museums in the area include the Toulouse Lautrec museum in Albi (which also has a wonderful red-brick cathedral), the Musée des Beaux Arts in Agen, and the Musée d'Ingres in Montaubon. There are many other types of museum covering every aspect of Quercy life. Among the cathedrals and abbeys, apart from Albi, you might consider driving to the wonderful abbey at Moissac, which also has a stunning set of well-preserved cloisters. 'I thought I would drop you a line to let you know what a wonderful time my family and I had at Béral. You are truly lucky to own such a beautiful house set in picturesque countryside. We all felt that the improvements you had made complimented the house and were in keeping with its origins. In a walking distance you can reach all the major the bus-lines, the train station and airport shuttle services for Linate/Malpensa and Orio al Serio. Both the sofas that you see in the pictures are hideaway bed that you can fold away when you are in “sofa-mood". I think that they are even more comfortable as bed than in fact I have chosen them for this very reason.
