Children are welcome and will love the play opportunities in the rock-pools of the stream and elsewhere in the woods, but parents should be aware of the safety issues and ready to manage them.
You are strongly advised to rent a 4-wheel-drive vehicle.

There is also a traditional wood-fired bread oven (pizza oven).
1 Queen Bed (sleeps 2) and 1 Single Bed (sleeps 1). Bedroom 1: a very large room, can be set up with a single bed in addition to the double.
2 Single Beds (sleeps 2). Bedroom 2: Charming room with very decorated paintwork and a fireplace, This room has two single beds
1 Queen Bed (sleeps 2). Bedroom 3: This room has now a double bed and can also have a cot if required.
1 King Bed (sleeps 2). Bedroom 4: another very large room with a double and a single bed sleeps three in all

Bathroom 1 has toilet, bathtub, shower and one basin.
Bathroom 2 has one basin.
All views are of forested mountains. There are no buildings visible, and indeed no permanent neighbours within 5km. In the winter, the snowy tops of Monte Giovo and Monte Rondinaio are visible from near the mill. The river that drives the mill, the Torrente Segaccia, is of course visible from the windows (and audible too, as it tumbles over innumerable falls). Near the mill are its small fields and terraces, which are now partly recovered from the forest, so there is a pleasing vista opening up down the valley.
There are vast areas of mountain to walk in, including our own land. Monte Giovo (1996m) is about 5 km away, and its peak is accessible via an easy path. We particularly recommend a stay here to those who enjoy being in the heart of nature and walking in the mountains. The river here is really a sequence of small pools and falls. It is very refreshing to bathe in the cool mountain water.
• The journey by car to Pisa airport takes about an hour and a half. Various public transport options are avaiable from any of the villages in the Serchio Valley. The valley road and rail are about 40 minutes from the mill by car. By train from Ghivizzano or one of the other nearby train stations in the Serchio Valley, the journey is just over the hour, if the train is direct. You can also change at Lucca. There are also buses to Lucca and from there to Pisa.
• Ski lifts or Runs : can be reached by driving for 90 minute(s). The ski resorts of Abetone are just on the other side of the mountain, but the journey round by car takes a little more than an hour.
• Shopping and Dining: can be reached by driving for 45 minute(s). Barga (main centre with several restaurants and a range of shops, minimarket, banks etc.) is 15km away. Coreglia Antelminelli also has shops and restaurants etc. and is 12km away. Fornaci di Barga has more shops and a supermarket and is 18km away. Gallicano has a large supermarket, shops, restaurants etc. and is 22km away. Bagni di Lucca has shops and restaurants and historic spa and is 20km away. Dozens of other villages and towns within easy reach have great places to dine out. There is a very interesting restaurant specializing in porcini mushrooms just near the mill, in Piastroso, about 5km away.
50% of the rent is required to complete the booking (balance due 15 days in advance). A refundable security/damage deposit of 400 is required. If you cancel anytime, payments (less 10%) are refunded if the unit is re-rented.

• Check in after 4:00 PM and check out before 12:00 PM.
• All pets are allowed.
• There is no specific quiet time policy, though guests are asked to be respectful of any neighbours.
• Housekeeping is provided every 7 days during a stay.
