Dating back to the 16th century, this delightful property is situated on the edge of a tiny hamlet, Creixell. The 16th century gates lead through to the pool and terraces. The original wing of the house has a wonderful Gothic staircase. Here you'll find the open-plan living/dining room, kitchen and shower room. The bedrooms, bathroom and another shower room are in a separate wing, accessed via a covered terrace. The family dining room - seating 14 - overlooks a duck pond. There is a well equipped farmhouse kitchen with large Catalan fireplace. (There is no exterior window in the kitchen due to village preservation laws.) Creixell is home to only 20 year-round residents and a small seasonal restaurant. Nearby Borrassa has two small supermarkets, a chemist and an excellent butcher. Visit the bustling town of Figueras, made famous by Salvador Dalí. There are also trains from Figueras to Barcelona. See the historic city of Girona, cross the border into France or take a short drive to the coast. The village has a well-stocked general shop, restaurant and one of the best pitch and putt courses in Catalunya. For golf enthusiasts, the 27-hole 'Emporda' and 'Pals International' courses are both nearby, or head for the beach and try your hand at water sports. Visit the picturesque coves of Sa Riera, Aigua Blava and Tamariu. Take in the dramatic scenery - mountains, plains and medieval villages. Covered parking. The booking is confirmed once signed documents have been faxed and 25% of the rental price (+ 28 Euros booking fee) has been paid. The remaining 75% of rental fee must be paid at least 42 days prior to arrival. If you cancel 75 or more days prior, payments less 15% of rental and 50 Euros are refunded.
