Our unit is located on the west side of scenic Glen Lake in a heavily wooded, very secluded and private area. Large windows face Glen Lake giving a spectacular view of the lake and opposite shore. Included in this view are mountains that rise up from the east shore of Glen Lake. Part of your view also includes Therriault Pass. Located at the top of this mountain range, it is a large glacially formed U-shaped pass. Years ago a glacier swept through this pass and down into the valley below where is scoured out the lake bed of Glen Lake. As the glacier receded the waters filled this basin and formed Glen Lake.
Glen Lake is a picture perfect mountain lake. It is about 1 mile across and 2 miles long. Periodically you may spot an Osprey or Bald Eagle doing some fishing. Frequently, Whitetail Deer will be seen in the front yard feeding in the morning. We have also seen elk and moose on occasion, but deer are very common.
Our Lodge is situated on a 1 acre wooded lot located about 100 yards up a slope from Glen Lake. The lodge construction is called post and beam. The frame of the house was built using huge Engelmann Spruce logs (26 inches to 38 inches in diameter) from Prince George, Canada. All the ceilings are constructed from tongue-and-groove pine planking. The walls between the logs are sheetrock. The massive logs give the Lodge a majestic look and feel and the sheetrock adds a clean and finished appearance. This is truly a very unique and beautiful structure. Construction of our unit was completed in the fall of 2002.
