• Transit: can be reached by driving for 90 minute(s). Type of transit is Ferry. From the Airport, you must travel to Buckley Bay via a car, and take 1 short Ferry to Denman Island, and 1 other Ferry to Hornby. A car is desirable.
• Ski lifts or Runs : can be reached by driving for 90 minute(s). Mt Washington is the closest ski hill and is on Vancouver Island, about 2 hours from the unit.
• Shopping and Dining: can be reached by driving for 10 minute(s). Hornby Island has a Coop situated in the center of Hornby Island with restaurants and small shops. Also the unit is about 5 minutes from a quaint bakery.
• Ocean is located within a 4 minute(s) walk. Beach gradient is gradual for a short distance. Beach surface is small pebbles. The unit is close to Galleon Beach, a very rough pebular beach, but with easy access for kayaks and canoes. There are 2 other beaches for swimming, with very sandy beaches and warm water in the summer. Beach Equipment: Canoe, Rentals Nearby, Row Boat, Sailboat and Windsurfer.
• Nearby Attractions: Hornby Island is located off the eastern shores of the larger Vancouver Island. It is only a hop, skip and a jump from the busyness of city life. A Northern Gulf Island, Hornby Island has beautiful stretches of sandy beaches, old growth Douglas fir, and ocean bluffs covered in wildflowers. Tribune Beach and Whaling Station Beach are beautiful local beaches within driving or bicycle distance of the cottage. These beaches have beautiful sand, and remarkable eroded sandstone rock formations. In the summer, the incoming tide provides the opportunity to swim in water as warm as the Mediterranean and in water as blue as the South Pacific. Kick back and enjoy an afternoon in this sub-tropical paradise. If you also enjoy beach combing, the ocean surrounding you is home to hundreds of birds, fish and sea creatures, from those small enough to live in rock pools to those large enough to leap playfully out of the water making their own waves on the pebble beaches Or, if your desires are to kick back, in the shade, read a good book, or just plain revel in the tranquility of the island, Hedgehog Cottage has all the amenities to complement your afternoon siesta.

Payments and Policies

Payment Details

200 of the rent is required to complete the booking (balance due 60 days in advance). A refundable security/damage deposit of 100 is required. If you cancel less than 60 days prior, there is no refund.
Owner accepts payments by: Personal Cheque - Cash - Email Money Transfer

Policies

• No smoking is allowed.
• Children are allowed.
• Check in after 4:00 PM and check out before 11:00 AM.
• A maximum of 1 Dog is allowed.
• There is no specific quiet time policy, though guests are asked to be respectful of any neighbours.
• No Maid Service is provided during a stay.
• Housekeeping is provided prior to arrival and after departure.
