As my time zone is four hours ahead of BC, I am usually one of the first people working each day and I enjoy being able to talk to people from all around the world. This job makes getting up in the mornings easy as you find you are actually looking forward to your day of work ahead of you.

Even though we have never met in person, I still feel close to the other team members that I overlap with. I like the fact that everyone on our team is dedicated and hard working.

Having the option to work extra hours, (on my terms and with management approval), has allowed me to increase my income without cutting into my personal time.

When I first started working for Owner Direct, we still worked in a regular office environment. As the company grew, we decided to transition to a virtual office. The portability of my job has provided my family a chance to live in different provinces.

As long as my destination has high speed internet, I am able to travel and work at the same time. This ability has given me the opportunity to take my kids to numerous tennis tournaments without having to take time off work.

Even though we are all working from home, it feels like an office environment due to the communication tools we use.

We may not all be in the same office, but have become friends regardless.

Over the course of my 33 years of work experience, I have had to work with a variety of organizations and companies; with the main focus on customer service. I love not having to drive to work every day! I've had jobs where I've had to commute as much as 1-1/2 hours each way, every day, so I know what I'm missing!

Sometimes I have to remind myself that this is the "green" way to work, because it's so easy to forget that side of things when everything runs so smoothly the way we're doing things. It's really nice to remember that I'm working for a company with such a small carbon footprint, and everyone I tell is impressed too.

With all the communication tools at our disposal, it's not like you're all alone at home, because everyone is just an instant message or call away.

I first started at Owner Direct when we worked in a regular office. Transitioning to working at home took a little bit to get used to, but with instant messaging software and the internet phone lines, I don’t feel isolated at all. It helps when you’ve got a great team of people to work with.

I love working for an environmentally friendly company where we don’t have to drive to the office every day, we don’t print out copious amounts of paper and we don’t have to purchase “office clothes”.

I have been able to move around a bit and finally get settled in the country life yet continue to have my great job.
