Set on a peaceful hillside with superb views and lovely country walks all around, this carefully restored stone cottage is a few minutes drive from the pretty old town of Marthon. The comfortable open-plan interior has a wood-burning stove for cooler evenings, while outside is a furnished terrace, lovely gardens and a swimming pool, (occasionally shared by the charming French owners next door) overlooking lush countryside. There is a river for fishing 150m away which also offers lovely riverside walks, tennis at Marthon, and a recreational lake with beach and sailing facilities at nearby Lavaud. Visit the local farm-restaurants for excellent home-grown food at low prices, and experience a typical Dordogne weekly market at Piégut. Explore La Rochefoucauld with its castle and chocolate factory, and the cathedral town of Angoulême, both a short drive away. Parking. The booking is confirmed once signed documents have been faxed and 25% of the rental price (+ 28 Euros booking fee) has been paid. The remaining 75% of rental fee must be paid at least 42 days prior to arrival. If you cancel 75 or more days prior, payments less 15% of rental and 50 Euros are refunded.
