Those guests staying at our cottage for 7 days or longer, will be given free ferry passage from Nanaimo to our cottage and return for your vehicle and up to 2 adults and 2 children. Arbutus Point Cottage is located right on the ocean (south east exposure), only 30 feet from a walk-on beach, where oysters clams & crab abound. The breathtaking view changes constantly as you watch the marine traffic make their way along the waterfront. You can observe eagles, herons, seagulls, ducks, Canada geese, seals, sea lions, otters and lots of deer. Small birds and squirrels are regular visitors.
A 12 ft. aluminum boat with oars and life jackets is available. If you want to bring your own motor, the boat is designed for a small (max 9.9 HP) short shaft motor. Also bring a fuel tank and line. A 15 ft. canoe with paddles and life jackets is also available.
The hosts will be pleased to teach you the art of clam digging or oyster picking and you can enjoy cooking your own fresh gourmet sea food dishes.
Even though the cottage is very private, your hosts are close by and there to help in any way.
