Set in its own grounds of 17 acres, the cottage is built in traditional rustic style that blends well with its locality. However the real beauty of this property is its solitude. The surrounding area is a sleepy farming community and really quite unspoiled. There are stunning views from the Southwest facing swimming pool with sun all day. The sunsets are awesome and star gazing is superb. With no light pollution, you will almost certainly see Mars and Venus and maybe a shooting star or two. To the rear of the property is a BBQ area with a pergola for outside dining! Listen to the silence!!

    More Information
    Walk to the top of the land and the views are even more breathtaking, a marvellous place for a picnic or a quiet read, or painting scenery. Ideal for chilling out or just being part of nature. A superb base for exploring the Alentejo. Historic Beja is less than an hour away with Evora a little further. Both are world heritage sites. There is also the Sao Mamede national park. For golfers the Algarve has a mass of courses to choose from and are around an hours drive. Food is very simple and rustic but very fresh as it is all locally grown or caught. The wine is all from the region too. Eating out is very cheap. Who wants to cook!

    • Lisbon Airport is 90 minute drive to the North. Faro Airport (Algarve) is a 60 minute drive to the South.
    • Golf: can be reached by driving for 45 minute(s). As we have plenty of land (17 acres) it would be possible to use the space to practise your golf drive and teeing off skills. Belt a bucket of balls, but please pick them up.
    • Shopping and Dining: can be reached by walking for 20 minute(s). The nearby village of Garvao is a ten minute walk. It has a few bars and cafes, a mini market, pharmacy, and bull ring. Larger Ourique has banks, cafes, bars, restaurants, hospital, cinema, and large supermarket. Algarve shopping is less than an hours drive and is a modern shopping mall, it even has McDonalds!
    • The nearest lake, Barragem da Monte da Rocha is 3 miles away. Good for Carp Fishing and Wind Surfing. Motorised water sports are prohibited. The nearest beaches on the West coast of Portugal are about an hours drive, and the Algarve beaches are also an hours drive.
    Payments and Policies
    Payment Details
    25% of the rent is required to complete the booking (balance due 60 days in advance). A refundable security/damage deposit of 100 is required. If you cancel less than 30 days prior to arrival, there is no refund.

    Policies
    • No smoking is allowed.
    • Children are allowed.
    • Check in after 3:00PM and check out before 11:00AM.
    • No pets allowed (Except for Service Animals).
    • There is no specific quiet time policy, though guests are asked to be respectful of any neighbours.
    • Housekeeping is provided prior to arrival and after departure. No housekeeping is provided during a stay.
