If this is your first trip to Mexico, here are a few helpful hints. Always call your credit card companies before you leave and tell them that you will be in Mexico. When you get here, you will want them to work ! Carefully inspect any cash that you will bring with you. The bills cannot be torn, overly worn or have ANY marks of any type on them. Plan to exchange your currency at a bank for Pesos. Almost all stores will accept Dollars, but none will calculate the value using the real exchange rate, but will use the quick rate of 10:1 for USD transactions.
