An exceptional property in the heart of the bucolic Mt. Newton Valley with spectacular 180 degree views as far as the Olympic mountains of Washington.
Our comfortable suite has been designed with attention to detail. From the moment you open the gate into your private courtyard we know you will feel welcome. We have tried to anticipate your every need with a fully equipped kitchen and cozy living room while increasing the luxurious feel with Persian rugs and exquisite linen and bedding. Totally separate from each other, the bedrooms and bathrooms allow two couples to each have their own private area.
The magnificent gardens surrounding the home may be enjoyed from your private patio or courtyard. Enjoy the fireworks at Butchart Gardens each Saturday evening throughout the summer or simply take in the spectacular view of the valley, ocean and mountains.
Centrally located in the Mt. Newton Valley, local activities are just moments away. Whether you like to commune with nature, hike trails, walk along beaches, whale watch, kayak, tour gardens and wineries or shop local artists galleries and boutiques we are close to them all. Many of our guests comment on the peaceful and relaxing surroundings here and they so enjoy the delightful cuisine that our local restaurants provide.
We encourage you to enjoy all that we have offer and we look forward to having you stay with us.
Here are what some of our past Guests have to say:
If you are looking for an elegant spot on the quite civilized Saanich Peninsula midway between Sidney and Victoria, this may just be the ticket. Private and beautifully furnished, spotless and tranquil, this lovely offering's charm is exceeded only by that of the delightful owners. Nearby Butchart Gardens is only an easy few minutes drive and definitely not to be missed. Both Victoria and Sidney are a pleasant 15 minutes or so from this stunning country estate. Treat yourself to an exceptional stay. Guest Carol and Bob
If you are planning a trip to southern Vancouver Island, this is the place to stay. The house is beautiful and lovingly taken care of. All the little extra touches make you feel very pampered and special. The Owners know how to make you feel very welcome from the minute you meet them. They were very helpful in letting us know about special places to eat and sights to see. The house was beyond our expectations and very comfortable for two couples. We would highly recommend this property and would love to go back ourselves one day.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The exterior gardens were exquisite. The warmth and friendliness of the Owners was terrific. They made us feel at home in a lovely setting. The three dogs could not been more friendly. The interior was like a setting out of Better Homes and Gardens.

Genial hosts, check – Velcro dogs, check – Wonderful flowers at home, check – Close to Butchart Gardens, check – Easy trip into Victoria, check. But, let me emphasize what others have mentioned in passing; this is a great place for foodies. If you want to eat out, there are plenty of terrific places within a short drive. Brentwood Bay Resort, Maria’s Greek in Sidney, and the Dining Room at Butchart Gardens, are examples. We especially liked the Cactus Club Café in Victoria. The real wonder is how well equipped the kitchen is if you want to eat at home, as we did. It is not YOUR kitchen, but it does have sharp knives (and a knife sharpener), heavy bottomed pans, some food storage containers, useable spices, and starter amounts of sugar and flour. If you want to bake, buy flour. If you need two tablespoons for a recipe, you will not have to buy 5 pounds of flour; what a treat. There was a nice welcome/starter collection that made the first day’s breakfast feasible, another treat. The aircraft carrier sized grill on the deck worked wonders, especially with our first night’s flank steak that also provided two picnics. Nearby, many farm markets were in peak season form. Greens, tomatoes, beets, cukes, corn (great on the grill), berries, berries, and more berries were all beautiful, plentiful and affordable. Satellite Fish Company in Sidney is terrific. It has a small selection of absolutely fresh fish at good prices. Free range eggs and chickens are available at farm markets and the Saturday farmer’s market at the fairgrounds. Several good groceries are nearby, too. Each night while having dinner on the deck overlooking the beautiful countryside.
