Manzanillo Rental Guide

Manzanillo, Mexico Manzanillo, Mexico Manzanillo, Mexico

Manzanillo is Mexico's best-kept secret, with miles of unoccupied beaches, an active volcano reaching 13,000 feet and world-acclaimed deep sea fishing. This is truely an enchanted Pacific resort in paradise.

Let the magic of Mexico's Sun Coast take you away, and discover for yourself why this was the paradise chosen for the film "10" starring Dudley Moore and Bo Derek.

Mexico's largest lagoon is in Manzanillo, and close by are cascading waterfalls, clear rivers, tropical rain forests and pre-Colombian ruins. Downtown Manzanillo has a cultural museum, civic center, and bargain shopping.

Manzanillo Bay was discovered in 1527 by Alvaro de Saavedra. It was named Santiago de la Buena, or Santiago's Bay of Good Hope, and served as a departure point for important expeditions. Over the next 300 years, the Pacific Coast's history is filled with accounts of pirates from Portugal, England, France and even Spain assaulting, looting and burning ships for their rich cargoes.

Manzanillo's pristine, secluded beaches are undeniably the most beautiful on the western coast of Mexico. Large or small, they have surf tranquil enough for children to play in.

The following beaches are notably some of the best in the area: Playa de Oro is a quiet beach North of town. Another unpopulated beach is Pea Blanca. Playa L'Recif is a small, pebble-strewn beach, and La Boquita is a popular beach with the locals.

Manzanillo offers watersports galore including para-sailing, snorkeling, scuba diving and windsurfing. For the more adventurous, there are river kayak trips.

Away from the shore, you'll find great golfing at one of the world's 'top one-hundred' courses, or enjoy mountain adventures on horseback, shopping or visits to the quaint colonial villages.
