Rates for stays of seven nights and longer can be negotiated. We can accommodate an extra two children under 12 on a rollaway bed or in the attic. Price to be negotiated. 20% premium on rental for one night stays. There is a “dormitory” under the small log cabin which sleeps up to three people and which has its own shower, toilet and basin. The rate quoted is per person per night:In Season: Jan. – April, July, August, December $15USD, Out of season: May, June, Sept. – Nov $10USD.

    No telephone but facilities available at the main house on request. Bed linens supplied. A Haven for fishermen, yachties, watersports enthusiasts, birdwatchers, botanists, hikers and honeymooners. This cabin is for those seeking peace and tranquillity in beautiful surroundings. This location is a piece of Paradise on the north bank of the Swartvlei, the biggest in the chain of lakes between George and Knysna.

    • George Airport is a 50 min. drive by car with frequent air links to the international airports of Cape Town and Johannesburg.
    • Golf: can be reached by driving for 45 minute(s). There are at least 15 first class golf courses within a 60km. radius of the property, including three courses at Fancourt in George where they held the President's Cup competition in 2003.
    • Shopping and Dining: can be reached by driving for 45 minute(s). Sedgefield, a 19km. drive by car, has several pleasant restaurants, a supermarket, butcher's shop, liquor store, chemist, post office etc. Knysna, a 40km. drive, is a main tourist attraction with branches of all the main shops, many interesting curio and gift shops and several top class restaurants. George, a 45km. drive, is the biggest town in the area with all the usual amenities plus a large new shopping mall.
    • The property has half a km. of lake frontage with a beach, jetty and boat launching area. There are canoes and a pedalo available for guests. The lake is a haven for fishermen, birders and watersports enthusiasts. The property is about 30 mins. by car from some of the most beautiful beaches on the Garden Route. Lifeguards patrol in season in safe swimming areas.

    Payment Details
    The rent, required to complete the booking, is 50% (balance due on arrival). A credit card is required for a security deposit. If you cancel, your rent will be refunded (less a 20 percent handling fee) if the unit is re-rented.

    • No smoking is allowed.
    • Children are allowed and children under the age of 2 years old stay free.
    • Check in after 2:00PM and check out before 10:00AM.
    • No pets allowed (Except for Service Animals).
    • There is no specific quiet time policy, though guests are asked to be respectful of any neighbours.
    • Housekeeping is provided prior to arrival and after departure. No housekeeping is provided during a stay.
