St. Chinian Vacation Rentals

This modern, well equipped kitchen with a breakfast table and storage cupboards will provide everything you should need if you wish to cook gourmet meals, or simply eat a take out pizza. Equipment includes a hob with extractor, microwave / grill, washing machine and dryer, in addition to the usual kettle, toaster, glasses, dishes, cutlery and crockery for at least four people.

There is always such a lot to see and do in and around Saint-Chinian, famous for its AOC wines, great location, 300 days of sunshine per year, and the stunning natural beauty of the surrounding countryside. Ample free parking is available right outside the property and the plentiful local restaurants means that there is no need to risk meeting a Gendarme when driving home from a ‘happy’ evening out! Spain, tax-free Andorra and the Pyranees for skiing are all within drivng distance for a day trip.

• Carcassonne, Perpignan, Montpellier Airport is within a 60 minute(s) drive. Saint-Chinian is simple to find from all the airports in South West France or nothern Spain. Three airports are within approximately one hour, Nimes and Marseille are around 90 minutes, and Toulouse and Girona (Spain) around 2 hours. Details will be sent to you on booking.
• Golf: can be reached by driving for 45 minute(s). There are 3 golf course(s) nearby.
• Ski lifts or Runs : can be reached by driving more than 120 minute(s). The nearest skiing available is at Font Romeu / Pyranees 2000, Andorra or just over the border into Spain. Day trips are well worth the effort and the fees low by comparison with the Alps.
• Shopping and Dining: can be reached by walking for 2 minute(s). Boules, cafés for enjoying a coffee or glass of the local wine, as well as an oyster and shell-fish bar are all literally on your doorstep. Within a few minutes walk are several restaurants, a pizzeria, and two café bars. The renowned red and rosé AOC Saint-Chinian wines are available from local, friendly producers offering free ‘degustation’ (tasting). There is a small supermarket a two minute walk away, while a larger supermarket is only a very short car ride away. More shops, banks, bars and restaurants are just around the corner.
• Nearby Attractions: The area surrounding Saint-Chinian and the nearby Haute Languedoc National Park, is a great place for walking and bike rides. Walkers and hikers will find free English language guides in the Tourist Office. Bikes are available for rent in the village. If the heat gets the better of you and you need to cool down, there are a number of options. The town has its own public swimming pool (open from June 1st), while the glorious free Mediterranean beaches are only 40 minutes away by car. Alternatively, you can swim in the River Orb at Roquenbrun or the river Cesse at Bize-Minervois. The area also offers the chance to try your hand at rock-climbing, fishing, painting, golf, horse-riding and canoeing. Safe beaches, historic chateaux, abbeys, the mountains of the Haut Languedoc National Park with its picturesque gorges, natural rock pools, river swimming and canoeing, are all within 40 minutes, or much less, from your front door. Golf is available in Saint Thomas (35 minutes), Lamalou les Bains (45 minutes) or Carcassonne (one hour). The Spanish border is about a 90 minute drive. In winter - inexpensive Pyranées skiing is available in a little over 2 hours drive – making it possible for a day trip.
