• Faro International airport is about a 35 minute drive from Cabanas. There is also a train station in Tavira, which is only 10 minutes by car. Some trains stop at a station in Conceicao, which is an 8 minute walk from the cottage. Also there is bus connection to Libon, Faro, and to the border with Spain.
• Golf: can be reached by walking for 5 minute(s). Across from the main road N.125, 1 minute in the car from Perogil is a golf course. Algarve has many golf courses, and they are considered among the best in the world.
• Shopping and Dining: can be reached by walking for 5 minute(s). There is a fine supermarket at Pedras da Rainha, about a 6 minute walk from the cottage. It is famous for a large variety of fresh bread in the morning. Cabanas has several food shops and ample restaurants and cafes. It also has a small street market for fresh veggies and fruit and fish. Tavira has an excellent farmers market and a panoply of restaurants. The area is well-known for fresh fish.
• Beach gradient is gradual for a long distance. The cottage is about a 14 minute walk to the beach. By car, 2 or 3 minutes, and there is easy parking at the shore front, except at times in August. Also, within 15 minutes drive is another splendid beach at Manta Rota and Monte Gordo. Behind Cabanas is unspoiled and rather wild mountain scenery, and mountain drives are indeed pleasant. On the shore front at Cabanas are various cafes and restaurants. From Cabanas shore front it is necessary to take a short boat ride of about 4 minutes to arrive to the beach. The beach is many kilometers long and totally unspoiled - one of the finest beaches in Europe.
