Canmore, Alberta is a town located in the Bow Valley just east of world-famous Banff National Park and has a permanent population of about 12,000. Calgary lies 110 km (70 mi) east of Canmore. The town offers a fantastic rocky mountain setting and a relatively mild climate compared to most regions of Canada; averaging only -8°C in January with a very low humidity that makes it feel considerably warmer. A mecca for outdoor enthusiasts, Canmore offers climbing, kayaking, canoeing, caving in the summers and a diverse range of winter activities such as cross country skiing at the Canmore Nordic Centre trails.
