Lanikai is located on the southeastern coast of the island of Oahu between Kailua and Waimanalo near Wailea Point and Kaelepulu Pond.
Lanikai Beach has 'talcum powder fine' white sand, and is protected by an off shore reef, where palm trees arch gracefully out over the water. Lanikai vacation rentals offer a perfect oasis from the sun while on holiday.
The turquoise-blue waters are perfect for year round swimming, kayaking, canoeing, snorkeling and windsurfing. You have seen this beach in countless television commercials, travel posters, and magazine covers.
A bike trail circles Lanikai on a one way loop, so biking, running, or roller blading are popular. A picturesque park is located in the heart of Lanikai, complete with basketball hoops, playground equipment and a lawn area large enough for a baseball or soccer game.
Early risers will be treated to a memorable experience watching the sun rise as the morning breeze brings a slight chill off the water. An Oahu vacation rental by owner can provide a pleasurable Hawaii experience away from the hustle and bustle of hotels.
Lanikai beach runs south for almost a mile. It has no facilities, but good snorkeling and swimming all year long, with a mild surf and a gently sloping, sandy beach.
