This unique property was an original village house renovated true to local design. Its structure highlights the beauty of Sri Lankan architecture. Bedrooms spill out onto private courtyards and living areas welcome company. It is a solid beach house that flows from one room to the other offering both privacy and open spaces for entertaining.
Unawatuna is situated on the Western side of Sri Lanka, down towards the Southern tip. Its unique location protects it from exposure to the monsoons that hit the Western and Eastern coasts and offers surf for most of the year.
Unawatuna is a magical beachside village full of cafes, restaurants and shops. You can sit at tables as the water laps at your feet. Or lie for ours on the sun lounges. Hire boats and kayaks for extra fun.
The house is 10 min from Galle and a two hour trip from Columbo airport. Galle is a Portugese Fort with beautiful architecture and history. Galle has even more restaurants and cafes and is a treat for antique hunters.
Our care taker, and his wife live on the property, and will be there to clean and cook as you wish.
We also provide a tuk-tuk driver and chef. He will organize anything you require. You will be provided with contact details upon your booking confirmation and our recommendations for restaurants and cafes etc.
We can also organize airport transfers for you if you require.

“We had a lovely 2 week stay in July 2012. Two adults and five children (aged between 3 years and 7 years). The property is really spacious, airy and very well maintained. Lots of place for the kids to run around in, they really enjoyed spotting the monkeys in the trees. The bedrooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. The bathrooms are nicely decorated and the kitchen and dining areas were ample size for all of us to eat and room for more. We were well looked after by the housekeeper who tidied up after the children constantly. The watchman was excellent at locking up after us when we had drifted off to bed. The location is great, not too far from the beach and less than five minutes after calling a tuk-tuk, we jumped in, threw the boards on and were away to the beach in no time.
