    The house is about 5,000 square ft with open plan upstairs. The entranceway has a huge closet which houses coats and shoes. As you enter the home you will face the large open plan living room, kitchen to the right and also the dining room with 14ft ceilings. Off the entrance way is the door to the garage which can house up to four cars on a hydraulic lift, and also a powder room for visitors just before you reach the living room. Off the living room is the Zen feel master bedroom with large ensuite bathroom, and a dual gas fireplace for both the bedroom and bathroom. The master bedroom has a double French door which leads to a small terrace where you can sit all year round and enjoy cocktails, meals or afternoon tea as there is a gas heater on this terrace. This terrace can also be accessed from the living room. The large ensuite bathroom has a Jacuzzi and also a shower, with a double sink. The washer and dryer are also located in this bathroom along with a small TV. Upstairs boasts numerous skylights which is an added feature with one in the kitchen, one in the entrance hall and another skylight in the master bathroom and walk in closet area, never a shortage of natural light in this house. The living room is perfect for entertaining a large number of people and to keep everybody warm there is a gas fireplace. Fish for trout and bass. Rods at the bar. Hiking trails are nearby and The Bear Mountain Golf Course, Athletic Club and Yoga place is a 15 minute drive. Walk to a 5 plex state of the art movie theatre or ride the opposite way for miles on the Galloping Goose cycle trail. Stunning lake views from the front deck and windows. Gazebo with garden roof and pathway through more garden and fruit trees to the lake down the other side. Tall evergreens on opposite shore where bald eagles nest. Otter, racoons, deer and herons share the lakefront. Mountains and trails behind you. 30 minutes to ferry terminal, 20 mins to airport. Whistler is a 2 hr drive and a 1.5 hr scenic ferry ride away.     This house was built by Robert Tait of Scotland who came to Canada with his wife Mary, in 1889. Construction began in 1891 with the south portion being completed in 1893. An archaeological excavation and monitoring of the site completed in 2003. The assessment suggests this site has been occupied (possibly Coast Salish), likely continuously for the past 700 years with a possibility of occasional earlier use. Take a walk along the Dallas Road Walkway where you get to enjoy the beautiful view of Port Angeles Mountains off in the distance while you enjoy watching the sunrise or the sunset. Head on over to Ogden Point just down the way, "A popular spot to visit at Ogden Point is the 762-metre concrete breakwater. Built in 1916, the breakwater is home to Na'Tsa'Maht - The Unity Wall mural that depicts the art of local First Nations." Or why not go and enjoy some lunch at the Breakwater Cafe & Bistro. On the other side of Dallas Road Walkway is Clover Point where you can fly your kite, watch the parasailing, or even sit to have a picnic if you so choose. The refrigerator has a good-size freezer. There is a dining table and four chairs in the separate dining room. A smaller table, to seat two, is situated in the kitchen. The comfortable living room has a couch and two chairs. There is also a piano which the renter is welcome to use. (The fireplace is not in use.) The large master bedroom has a queen-size bed, a walk-in closet, 2 dressers, and bedside tables. This upstairs level also has an office area with chair, desk and ample shelving. The second bedroom is on the main level next to the full bathroom (bath and shower). This bedroom is roomy and bright and has a double bed and dresser. There are two entrances to the house. The French doors at the back lead onto a large deck which overlooks a pleasant, very private garden. The renter is welcome to use the barbecue on the deck. Front-loading washer and dryer (shared with owner) are available in basement. This is a very cozy house, with electric baseboard heating. Electricity (up to $200/month, the current cost) is included in the rent. A small pet may be allowed. Garden maintenance will be arranged by owner.
