The house is located in the James Bay area of Victoria, very close to downtown and only ½ block from Dallas Road and the coast walk along the Strait of Juan de Fuca. There is a bus stop at 2 minutes walk. A large grocery store, 2 liquor stores, 3 coffee shops and 2 medical clinics are all located within 2 blocks. The house is equipped with WiFi, a 46" flat screen TV, Apple TV and Netflix, a stereo, and a DVD player. Renter is welcome to use the owner's DVDs and CD's. The kitchen has a microwave and toaster oven, as well as a conventional stove. Kettle, hand mixer, hand blender, toaster, and coffee maker are supplied. There is ample food storage. The refrigerator has a good-size freezer. There is a dining table and four chairs in the separate dining room. A smaller table, to seat two, is situated in the kitchen. The comfortable living room has a couch and two chairs. There is also a piano which the renter is welcome to use. (The fireplace is not in use.) The large master bedroom has a queen-size bed, a walk-in closet, 2 dressers, and bedside tables. This upstairs level also has an office area with chair, desk and ample shelving. As you enter the home you will face the large open plan living room, kitchen to the right and also the dining room with 14ft ceilings. Off the entrance way is the door to the garage which can house up to four cars on a hydraulic lift, and also a powder room for visitors just before you reach the living room. Off the living room is the Zen feel master bedroom with large ensuite bathroom, and a dual gas fireplace for both the bedroom and bathroom. The master bedroom has a double French door which leads to a small terrace where you can sit all year round and enjoy cocktails, meals or afternoon tea as there is a gas heater on this terrace. This terrace can also be accessed from the living room. The large ensuite bathroom has a Jacuzzi and also a shower, with a double sink. The washer and dryer are also located in this bathroom along with a small TV. Upstairs boasts numerous skylights which is an added feature with one in the kitchen, one in the entrance hall and another skylight in the master bathroom and walk in closet area, never a shortage of natural light in this house. Fish for trout and bass. Rods at the bar. Hiking trails are nearby and The Bear Mountain Golf Course, Athletic Club and Yoga place is a 15 minute drive. Walk to a 5 plex state of the art movie theatre or ride the opposite way for miles on the Galloping Goose cycle trail. Stunning lake views from the front deck and windows. Gazebo with garden roof and pathway through more garden and fruit trees to the lake down the other side. Tall evergreens on opposite shore where bald eagles nest. Otter, racoons, deer and herons share the lakefront. Mountains and trails behind you. 30 minutes to ferry terminal, 20 mins to airport. Whistler is a 2 hr drive and a 1.5 hr scenic ferry ride away. Views to the Olympic Peninsula from the main living/dining area as well as the Master bedroom. Children are welcome but must be supervised when in the garden and animal areas. Sorry, no pets. The unit is wheelchair accessible. The doorways are all 3' and there is room to turn a chair around in the main master bathroom. There are grab bars in the master suite bathroom shower but not by the toilet although there is a counter there for support. It would depend on whether the person is able to use his arms for some mobility because the shower is not 'roll in' and does have a lip.
