Secluded Waterfront Close to Vancouver
This waterfront cabin is situated on the southwest end of Passage Island, located under an hour from Vancouver by car and water-taxi. The house features large windows and open-trusses and an open floor plan with one bedroom and loft with ladder access. The cedar deck with glass railing encircles the house and leads out to granite rock to the south and to flat grassy areas to the north. Passage Island is a rugged but beautiful setting where you can observe marine and bird wildlife, watch maritime activity, and enjoy scenic views from every window!

    The house has spectacular 180 degree ocean views down the Strait of Georgia, west across to the Gulf Islands and Bowen Island, and north to the snow-peaked mountains of the Howe Sound fjord. It is an easy walk around the island to enjoy views of Vancouver with Mt Baker in the background, and of West Vancouver and Lighthouse Park.

    Queen-sized hammock and stand. The water taxi runs from 8am-8pm in the summer and until 6pm in the winter, and runs every 2 hours depending on weather with a cost of $8/person each way. Call ahead to reserve specific taxi time and to confirm taxi is running for that time due to weather. It's about a 7 minute walk to the house up and down hill but you would have use of a wheel barrow which will be at the arrival terminal. You may be able to be dropped off at the house depending on the weather. If dropped off at the house you would then need to carry your bags about 100 feet up a hill (with steps) to the house. There is a dishwasher in the unit, however it is currently undergoing repairs.

    • Vancouver International Airport is a 60 minute drive from West Vancouver.
    • Golf: can be reached by driving for 20 minute(s). There are two nearby public golf courses off the island (requires a water-taxi trip). Seymour Landing on Bowen Island and Eagle Harbour in West Vancouver.
    • Ski lifts or Runs : can be reached by driving for 45 minute(s). Taking the water-taxi into Fisherman's Cove brings you to West Vancouver and its local mountains (Cypress is closest with 20 min drive) and has quick access to the Sea to Sky Highway to Whistler (1.5 hours drive).
    • Shopping and Dining: can be reached by driving for 45 minute(s). Closest shopping is the Caulfield Village Mall (grocery store, liquor store, Starbucks, bakery, bank, pharmacy, medical clinic, fashion) located at exit #4 off Highway 1, just minutes from Fisherman's Cove, West Vancouver.
    • Beach gradient is gradual for a short distance. Beach surface is rocky. There is a moorage float/anchor. You can swim off the property in a secluded swimming hole or visit one of three public stony beaches. Look out for bird and wildlife such as eagles, murres, herons, seals, river otters, and the occasional sea lion or whale. There is a steady stream of marine traffic moving past in the form of ferries, tug boats and their log booms, and pleasure craft. Passage also has some favourite local snorkeling and S.C.U.B.A. diving. Fishing licenses and bait, as well as the water-taxi service, are available at the Esso dock in Fisherman’s Cove. This describes the two public beaches on the island (very short walk). You can easily swim off the property itself.
    Payments and Policies
    Payment Details
    All of the rent is required (immediately) to complete the booking. A refundable security/damage deposit (amount to be discussed with owner) is required for long stays. If you cancel less than 30 days prior to arrival, there is no refund unless re-rented.
    Owner accepts payments by: Personal Cheque - PayPal - Money Order or Cashiers Cheque
    For monthly rentals, one month rent deposit is required in addition to first month's rent; payable as last month's rent with >30 days notice.
    *Please note that the above policies relate to the Owner's portion only.
    Policies
    • No smoking is allowed.
    • Children are allowed but this unit is not suitable for children under the age of 5.
    • Check in after 12:00 PM and check out before 12:00 AM. Check in/out times may be flexible upon request.
    • No pets allowed (Except for Service Animals).
    • There is no specific quiet time policy, though guests are asked to be respectful of any neighbours.
    • No housekeeping is provided during a stay.
    • Housekeeping is provided prior to arrival and after departure.
