The quiet town of Chipiona, is located northwest of the coast of Cadiz, on the Costa de La Luz, just 52 km. Cadiz, the capital of the province is the oldest city in the West (3,000 years). The most emblematic monument in Chipiona perhaps its lighthouse, which dates from 1867 and is built at Punta del Perro, in the same place where Quinto Servilio Cepión, the tower was built in 140 BC. We can also see the Shrine of Nuestra Señora de Regla, with its Moorish cloister of the XV century and the image of the Virgin (twelfth or thirteenth century). The Parish of Nuestra Señora de La O (XVI century), the Castle was probably built on another of Arab origin around the year 1295 and the Fisheries Corrales (believed to be Roman). From Chipiona, you can visit the wineries, the School of Equestrian and the Racing Circuit (in Jerez), the horse racing on the beach (in Sanlúcar de Barrameda), or to the Route of the White Towns in the Sierra de Cadiz, north of the province. The route enters the Grazalema Natural Park, declared a Biosphere Reserve, a must for those who enjoy active tourism and rural tourism. And not far away, across the river, another natural park, the Doñana Natural Park. Since Chipiona we can make excursions to Cadiz (52 km), to Seville (105 km), to Jerez de la Frontera (27 Km), to Ronda (150 km), to Malaga (260 km), to Gibraltar (145 km) toTarifa, the Windy City (150 km), to Portugal, Vila Real de Santo Antonio (250 Km), and even to Morocco. To go to Morocco, we will do by road to Algeciras (130 km), then board the ferry to Ceuta (1 hour of trip, 6 crossings daily) or to Tangier (1 hour trip, 40 trips per week). You can ship the car at the Ferry. In the area of Chipiona you can see and practice a lot of activities, but especially we can enjoy its 12 Km. Of magnificent beaches of fine golden sandy, some of them, awarded with the Blue Flag of the Clean Seas of Europe.

The Kitchen Diner is conveniently located on the ground floor and it’s fully equipped with an Oven, Induction Hob, Dishwasher, Melitta Coffee Machine (with a timer so you can wake up to the smell of the fresh brew waiting for you), 4 Slice Toaster and a Microwave/Combi Oven. Discover too the smells of lavender & thyme as you walk amongst the mountain herbs & flowers, particularly Jan - May. The house is actually situated on a long marked circular walk. Note: Most walks are un signposted so a good compass and map reading skills are useful. However if required we can arrange guided walks for groups. The area surrounding is fabulous cycling country for the enthusiast ! There are miles of quiet roads crossing open countryside with gorgeous views of the heath land, mountains, almond, olive, orange and lemon groves. Its often hard going so strictly for the fit and adventurous. The mountain biker too has many hill and mountain tracks to choose from. The Enormous Sorbas cave system is nearby. There are guided tours of the caves from easy going for beginners to more advanced for those with experience. Equipment can be provided by the centre. Granada and The Alhambra Palace is a must to visit at only 2 hours distance by motorway. For film enthusiasts there is Mini Hollywood Film Studio, Oasis Reserva Zoologica, Fort Bravo Cinema Studios and Western Lodge.     Casa louisa is a delightful traditional spanish casa with modern comforts such as double glazing and air conditioning but still retains some of the quirky spanish characteristics, which adds to the appeal of the house. Kitchens are not a big feature in spanish casas and our kitchen is small, but well-equipped with a gas hob, electric oven, fridge freezer, coffee machine, toaster and kettle. There is also a beer/wine fridge. The bedroom layout is typically spanish with adjoining bedrooms. The main bedroom is spacious with ample storage, ceiling fan and air conditioning/heating unit. This bedroom has a small balcony. Great for watching the semana santa and summer processions, which all pass by the house. The rooftop terrace is ideal for outdoor eating and chilling out at night or just sit back and watch the beautiful sunsets over the rooftops. The house could be described as quirky and there are quite a lot of stairs both inside and outside the house. As a result, it may not be suitable for young children. Casa louisa has a small flat screen TV with limited satellite channels but we do have a great supply of books. If required, internet access can be supplied via a 4g myfi router at a cost of 6 euros per day or 25 euros per week. A 50 euros refundable deposit for the unit is payable to our onsite representative you'll find everything you need to enjoy your holiday in rute. The house is a few minutes' walk to the tapas bars, restaurants, shops and other local facilities. The town has several museums including a jamon and anis museum, where you can sample some local delicacies. There are plenty of local shops selling bread, jamon, cheeses, fresh fruit and a great supermarket with a superb selection of fresh fruit and vegetables, fresh fish and of course, wine and spirits. If you like swimming there's an excellent municipal swimming pool in rute and you can also use the pools at the local hotels when purchasing food. The pools are unheated and ideal for cooling off on those long hot summer days. Rute sits on the edge of the subbetica natural park and is ideal for exploring the towns and villages that surround the park and don’t forget to check out the via verde. You can go walking, running, hill walking, bird watching and cycling. There are local organisations offering organised tours or you can just go off to explore on your own. Just a few miles away is the picturesque village of iznajar and close by valdearenas beach on the lake where you can swim, take a boat tour, hire kayaks, pedalos and canoes. Ideal for a picnic or enjoy the local cuisine at the beach restaurant. There's also an excellent municipal pool close to the lake. If you want a visit to the tourist areas and the beaches; nerja, torre del mar, torremolinos and the costa del sol are just over an hour's drive from rute and make for an excellent day out. The cities of cordoba, granada, malaga seville and jaen are all within easy driving distance from the house and great for a day's sightseeing trip to LA mesquita, alhambra, picasso museum and the alcazar. Rute is an ideal base from which to explore the surrounding area, rute is about 110 KM north of malaga, just over an hour by car. Granada airport in the east is approximately 98 KM and seville airport in the west is approximately 172. KM. There is no private parking at the house but plenty of on street parking.
