You can start your vacation right away with the keyless digital lock—no need to pick up any keys. As soon as you step into the condo, you’ll immediately see it’s a book lover’s paradise. With dozens of books lining the walls of the living room, you can snuggle up with a new favorite on the comfortable leather couch. If you would rather see the film adaptation, you can watch it on the 43” flat-screen Sony TV. The living room also has a small bistro-style dining table for 2 where you can enjoy a delicious home-cooked meal. The kitchen’s major appliances are all Frigidaire, including a 4-burner gas stove and oven, a dishwasher, and full-size fridge. We also have a GE microwave, toaster, and a coffeemaker to jump-start your mornings. Down the hall, you’ll find the newly remodeled bathroom on your right. We have a small coffee nook overlooking the back balcony with beautiful views of the tree tops and downtown Austin. The master bedroom comes with a deluxe queen bed, walk-in closet, and attached bathroom with shower/tub combo. The two guest bedrooms are located off the main living space; both bedrooms have two comfortable queen beds. There is a full bathroom located in the hallway with shower/tub combo. We have a queen size air mattress for extra guests. Our back balcony overlooks the massive fenced in backyard and downtown Austin. This is a great spot to grill up dinner and play horse shoes with friends and family. Please be mindful that we have tenants occupying our downstairs unit. The Harthan Historic District was the first established historic district in Austin, Texas. Every home on my street is labeled as a historic home, and it is fun to walk down our street and check them out. If you are looking for a unique Austin retreat you will love our home. Our classic home was built in 1933 and has recently been completely remodeled inside. From the exterior your will get a unique cottage feel but then when you step in the front door you will be astounded by all our modern amenities. Our open living area connects with the dining room and comes complete with a flat screen TV, TiVo cable, and WiFi. We have a screened in porch next to the living room which is our favorite spot to enjoy a glass of wine while watching the golfers across the street at Hancock Golf Course. Our wonderful kitchen has a fun modern style with a classic twist, with black and white checkered floors and colorful accents. We have all new stainless steel appliances and the kitchen comes fully equipped for a family style meal. Two of our bedrooms are on the first floor, the first comes with a cozy queen bed and direct access to the screened in porch. The second bedroom has two twin beds and overlooks the backyard. The downstairs full bathroom is located between both the bedrooms and has an industrial style. Upstairs is our loft space with its own living space and bedroom nook and full sized bed. This area has a second bathroom with jetted bathtub, this bathroom does not have a shower but it is perfect for relaxing and enjoying the Jacuzzi tub. Our amazing private backyard is a fun spot to entertain friends and family with plenty of seating and gas BBQ grill. We truly love our time at this uniquely Austin home and we know you will too. Hyde Park is just minutes from campus, the area is far enough from the madness to have ample parking for vehicles. Hyde Park prides itself on being genuinely Austin. Every winter, the residents deck out their homes in outrageous amounts of Christmas lights. People from all over the city tour the neighborhood’s streets in hopes of catching a glimpse of the jaw-dropping display. Shipe Park, right in the heart of Hyde Park, is a popular hangout for locals. It has a small swimming pool, playground, basketball court, and large, open grassy areas. Hancock Golf Course, a public nine-hole golf course, also sits in Hyde Park. It was created in 1899, making it Texas' oldest golf course. Quack's Bakery is a popular spot for coffee, sandwiches, and desserts. The inside tables are usually packed with students, and the outdoor tables are usually occupied by locals with their dogs. Other popular coffee shops in the area include Flightpath and Dolce Vita. Mother's Cafe is a popular vegetarian eatery. Hyde Park Bar and Grill is another favorite, serving up famous French fries that are dipped in buttermilk and rolled in flour before fried. Having Lake Travis a quick drive away and the Hamilton Pool Nature Preserve, only a quick 20-minute drive, the home is ideal for enjoying the Hill Country. Right next to the house there are boat rentals and the Lakeway Swim Center where the lap pool can be used. Guests will enjoy gorgeous Texas scenery with parks surrounding the property that are great for short hikes or picnics. There are plenty of places to dine near the home, too. Most famous for its sunsets and food is The Oasis, less then ten minutes away. Closer by are Hudson On The Bend and the Iguana Grill both of which provide great views and food. On your way to the house, you can stop at Whole Foods in the Bee Caves Galleria. The Galleria features more dining options, shopping, and a movie theater, only a ten minute drive from the house. The home is also a short drive to Falcon Head Golf Club that takes public reservations and has several other courses near by. This home is great for in-home entertainment, relaxing, and serves as a great launch point for all of the activities the area has to offer.
