Inside the entry, find a small bistro table for 2. Wood floors lead into the living room, which feels extra roomy due to the vaulted ceilings. A stone path leads to the casita, where you’ll push open the iron gate and walk to the dark green front door. You’ll enter the property into the main living area with traditional Spanish tile floors. Put your feet up and enjoy a quiet night in, lounging in the living room on the two arm chairs and plush love seat. Spanish decor surrounds you, creating a warm ambiance. When it’s time for dinner, head into the adjacent kitchen, where you can cook up a storm. It comes with fridge, double sink, toaster, oven/stove and microwave. Brew up a cup of coffee on the Keurig and sit down at the kitchen bar with two bar-stools, perusing the newspaper. In the bedroom, the wrought-iron queen bed invites you to sleep like a baby. You’ll also find a 42” flat-screen TV, small chair, closet and dresser. The bathroom has a sink, toilet and stand-up shower behind the bright shower curtain. Double patio doors lead out to a peaceful wooden deck with 4-person bistro set overlooking the green bamboo landscaping. NOTE: Part of the charm of the property is its downtown location. That charming location comes with train noise, as trains run past the property at different times during the day. We don't mind the train but not everyone will find it as charming as we do. THE LOCATION If you don’t feel like brewing your own coffee, walk to Opa Coffee and Wine Bar (5 minutes on foot) in the morning and come back at night for a glass of vino. Don’t feel like cooking either Try breakfast at Snooze (3 minutes on foot), tapas at Barlata (4 minutes on foot) and Mexican at Sazon (5 minutes on foot). Head over to Lamar Boulevard and peruse the unique clothing boutiques, eclectic art galleries and other fun stores. Ricky Guerrero Park (8 minutes on foot) is a fun spot for all ages with picnic spots, creek to explore and playground and splash pad for the little ones. The Barton Springs Pool (8 minutes) is a beautiful spot to spend the afternoon, swimming in the natural spring-fed pool and lounging under the stately oak and pecan trees. The room is filled with light from two large windows that look out on the private yard. The dining room is attached to the living area, and has a 4-person wooden dining room table and views through the sliding glass door. After dinner, enjoy dessert or a night cap on the two-person wooden swing, located just outside the sliding glass doors. Down the hall to the left of the dining room you’ll find a Whirlpool washer and dryer and the master bedroom, featuring a five-drawer dresser, queen bed and charming art. To the right of the bedroom is a bathroom with a tiled shower/tub combo and large wooden antique mirror. Through the dining room is the kitchen with tiled floors, and plenty of counter space for cooking. The appliances are all updated and offer everything you need for meal prep including a gas stove/oven, dishwasher and coffee maker. Sip your coffee outside on the back porch or take it upstairs to your private deck. Take the wooden stairs up to a large carpeted sleeping area with deck access. This room features floor-to-ceiling windows—crack them open in the evening and feel the cool night air from the queen-size bed. The house is tucked in a serene neighborhood, but close to all the action. INSIDE THE HOUSE From the driveway, follow the stone path to the front door, or enter through the one-car garage. The second bathroom, which is near the main entry and can be accessed through the second bedroom, boasts a combination shower and tub with striking blue tiles, dual-sink granite vanity. Great spot for SXSW, ACL, F1 & exploring this fun city!. Our 2-story loft condo is just a few minutes from everything you'd want to do in Austin. This is NOT a share of any sort or private room, you're not in someone's backyard —you get the entire place to yourself :-) This two-story condo is comfortable, bright and has everything you need. It's a perfect place to rest your head after exploring Austin all day/night, and it's spacious enough to just chill and relax if that's your thing too. About 90% of the furniture is hand-built by us from sturdy pine or cedar. There's a tatami-style king futon bed with topper upstairs in the loft bedroom, and there's a queen guest futon with topper downstairs (which doubles as a lounging couch). The remodeled bathroom has a shower/tub with new fixtures and comes with towels for your use. We provide some homemade shampoo, which is a mixture of Bronner's & essential oils. The open dining area also has a bar that we built with 3 stools as well (see photos). We have all the amenities to make the place like feel like you're at home. Including a full kitchen, butcher block tops, oven, stove, dishwasher (no microwave or toaster FYI), dishes, GoogIe Fiber WiFi, cards/games and free parking for 2 cars. There's a coin-operated washer/dryer on site in the building. We've done our best to keep highly-synthetic materials and plastics out of the home where possible, so you'll find a number of things that are made of different types of wood, metals or glass instead. The neighbors are cool and very polite — they sort of keep to themselves and their own business, but everyone is very friendly. If you read some of our reviews, you'll notice a number of our guests have talked about a kitty (named Rufus) that we had. He's no longer here at the condo.
